But it sounds like it's coming from the rear by the clutch area...I have 2 of these 250b's & the other one you don't hear the rattle, not that loud anyways.....Is it possible it could be a broken clutch spring??

I have a 250b linhai 257cc...Is rides good, but when idling there is a rattle back by the clutch area under the belt cover..Going to check it out tomorrow, but just looking for some thoughts & ideas of what you guys here think it could be......Replaced the belt this last spring & installed new slider weights (11g) in variator.....this started about 2 weeks ago...

like I said ellpee they fit perfect & work great, they just don't have the piece with the hook on them...What I'm going to do is Buy some of style 2 & move the ones I have to the front, where they match to the ones on there & then but the right ones on the back....But I'm riding like this for now....

Hello bobcat I don't think there is really any other style of seat for your scooter, but people do recover them ...There are videos on youtube & I think there maybe a couple right on this site somewhere...I've been thinking about recovering mine myself.....The seat cost around $100 to replace & you would be getting basically the same seat.....You can recover it cheaper then that..You could check out a re-upholstery place near you & see what they may charge.....Good luck Rcq78

I have 2-250b's & I have had 50/50watt bulbs in them for over 4years & have not had a problem with any plastics melting...The bulbs are nice & bright,I actually have people flick there lights for me to dim them...I have only had to change 2 bulbs in this time frame...Here is the link to the bulbs......I think there great....http:// .motopartsmax.com/index.php/main_page/product_info/products_id/11115/tID/3/cPath/34_103 or you can try this link also. the bulb cost more from the following site, but the shipping is free....http:// .ebay.com/itm/Head-Light-Bulb-50cc-to-250cc-Scooters-Moped-ATVs-Quad-Go-Kart-Buggy-/180966136857?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a226c1c19&vxp=mtr

What I did was go to tractor supply & buy harden bolts that are just a little bigger & tapped them into the aluminum...I also used red lock tite...I have not had a problem since....You might think with the red lock tite that you wouldn't be able to remove them, but you can...I had replaced them bolt atleast 5 times before doing this & it works great....I was like you bobcat,I lost my muffler one day riding....A couple lock washers won't hurt either...

I have 2 of the 250b's...One for me,which has just about 21000 miles on it & one for the wife which has almost 12000 on it....I have had no major problems to neither scooter...I change the oil every 1000 miles....I have replaced the rollers, with sliders, just because I wanted to & what a difference it makes...I went from the stock rollers to 11gm sliders....Up grade all lights to led when I first bought the scooters..They are both 2008's....

Well, let me tell you,I just installed the 20x12x11g sliders & what a difference...I have 2 of the 250b's...one for me & one for the wife... I installed them one both bikes & my wife is now telling everybody, that I have them going 100 mph...not really, but thats what she says..There is such difference on take off & your going 50-60 mph before you know it.....I've had mine going 70 mph with more throddle left...

also ellpee,it's not the hard of a job to adjust the valves, after the plastic is off....I just did mine for the 2nd time this spring...I went about 15,000 mile between & it really didn't show signs of needing it,but i didn't want to have to do it in the middle of the summer & lose riding time......You just need to make sure you have both of the timing marks lined up where they should be...Then it's just adjusting the intake valve (which is on top) at .004 & exhaust valve (which is on the bottom)at .006 with a feeler gauge....

I know what you mean by the plastic part ellpee...What I do is,when I pull it out from winter storage in the spring,I pull all the plastics off & Do things that I feel need to be done...One year I pulled the float out of the gas tank ,because the little clip that holds the float to the sending unit was on to tight & the float won't move freely...So,the float would stick & not read right, until the tank was almost empty....So,I pried it back off just a bit....I also installed a electronic fuel pump & trashed the vacuum fuel pump....I replace all bulbs with led's except the head lights, which I replaced with 50wx50w bulbs, which are just about as bright as my truck headlights...I also in stalled a led light on my truck which is 15" long & has 11 led's in it,the 2 end ones & middle led's stay lit then when I apply the brakes all 11 come on...You can never have enough lights on a 2 wheeled vehicle....
