I just purchased it today it has 13k miles and a couple things I'm curious about. 1st there seems to be a knocking noise where the belt drive is when I give it gas. Not so much when idling. 2nd my rpm gauge doesn't work. It will jump up every once ina while. 3rd the engine temp was around half and went up to 3/4 a little, then back to half. 4th the engine seemed to really slow down after riding about 70 on the freeway for about 15 minutes or so and then it died out, only 13 miles approx. I figure is the old battery, starter is brand new. Good thing the guyi bought it from works at a performance scooter shop and it's a bike he had sitting for a while. It was his. 5th I am also trying to wire back the radio it has no power because they used that power for the fan I guess. 6th after it died on the freeway I pushed it off toa gas station and I jumpered the scoot and got it started. The first time I tried it was with thinner cables and they got hot. Got regular cables started up and rode a mile and it died when I went to accelerate at a green light jumped it again and with a little throttle it was OK but gave it about 40-50% it would bog out. Upon arriving at destination gave it full throttle and immediately died and I heard a pop from exhaust.

Welcome to the forum....I would adjust the valves first...... .004 intake and .006 exhaust....this cures many probs with this engine..... I have 08 Roketa 257cc which has over 11000 miles and still going strong....This forum has many great riders and the info is here to fix your scoot...enjoy the ride....

I am good with air conditioning not so good with engines so pics would be great. Also just got a text from my friend this morning, his house smells badly of gas, I had to leave my scoot at his house last night by I was worried about the battery dying on my way home

So I've taken it apart. Fixed some broken wires which fixed the rpm gauge. New battery I was able to ride about 20 miles and when I was at the stop sign by my house I gave it gas and started having problems. It wanted to die. I have added a cold air intake before my first ride ever, and after playing with it a little I think the cold air intake is not restrictive enough. So I tried making it more restrictive by putting a sock over it and it has been starting every time but now it won't turn over. I've opened the carb and it was a little dirty so I cleaned it with carb cleaner and let it sit about 10 minutes. It still won't turn over. It's cranking but won't start. Checked the spark plug and I'm getting a constant spark so eliminate that one. Please help

Need to pull the plug, check for spark, if it's good then as you've been told the valves have got to be adjusted.

if your valves were adjust & you have no compression,I would say it's possible that on of the valves aren't closing...Did you line up your timing marks on your crank & cam? You must have it at TDC (top dead center) before adjusting the valves....The video that JR has is a very good tool.....

Could have a valve open or just bad rings, if you still have her apart I would double check the valves.

If it now has no compression after the valve adjustment the valves where adjusted incorrectly and need to be re-checked and adjusted when the piston is at TOP DEAD CENTER. Alleyoop

Thank you. We will see. It's out of my hands now. The mechanic came by and couldn't figure it out so he is picking it up today and bringing it to the shop

Yep if the valves were adjusted when not at Top Dead Center it probably damagee one of the valves. Alleyoop
