Me & My wife both own one of the mc54b's & were selling them...She is asking $800 for hers with 14000 miles & it & I'm asking $500 for mine ith 22000 on it....The Question I have is how much do you guy's think these are worth?? I've taken good care of them, reg oil changes & so on...All bulbs except for the headlights have been upgraded to led bulbs...Again I would like to get a idea of what people think there worth....

I have 2 of the 257cc Yamaha clones & I just turn it out 2- 2 1/2 turns & never have a problem..I have 22250 miles on mine & my wife has 13500 miles on hers...We have had very little problems with them...Except for the normal...I have adjusted the valves on both scoots twice, the last time being the spring of 2014,I don't plan on doing it again, unless I get signs that they need it..like stalling while stopped at a light.. They go thru rear tires like every 3000-4000 miles....I don't know if you have the factory headlight bulbs in,if so I would change them out with these .ebay.com/itm/171740925612?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.ebay.com/itm/171740925612?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT, I've had very good luck with these bulbs & there brighter then the factory ones...I also changed out the tail lighs, turn signals & dash light bulbs with leds, along with a led flasher for turn signals..The belt on mine broke at 18000 miles,I replaced the wife's belt at 12000 miles...Had a problem with my wife's clutch,so I ordered a new one,but the original only needed to be disassembled & cleaned up & re-greased....Oh,I also replaced both vacuum fuel pumps with a lawnmower electric fuel pump bought at my local Napa auto parts store for $50 apiece..But other then my mods we have really enjoyed the scoots, they seem to actually be very reliable....Good luck Rcq..

Well,I installed it last week, but have not rode the scoot yet...I actually received 2 exhaust gasket for the $1.50 plus $1.50 shipping...One is like aluminum with manifold gasket material on it (something like a automobile exhaust manifold gasket) which is the one I installed...The other one that I received is a copper o-ring I guess you could say...I will use that one if the other one fails......I will keep you up to date....

I had the same problem with the 2 -250B's I have..I put big washer in the mount as spacers & that was like 3 years ago & it is still holding up...I looked for some bushings, with no luck....The washer trick worked great...Make sure your using blue thread lock on the treads....Good luck...Bob

How are you trying to take it apart? If you use a impact wrench w/ a 1 13/16" socket, set the clutch on the floor in front of you, while you sit on some kind of seat, with it between your legs put a foot on each side of it,while pushing down with your feet & then use the impact wrench to get the big nut off, then let up with your feet slowy, because there will be a spring that will com up with it.....When putting it back together sit it in front of you again, lining up the flat spot on the hole with the flat spot on the shaft, then push down with your feet & start the nut with your hand being careful not to cross thread it,then tighten it with the impact.... Now the socket can be costly,I just bought one last week, just about $30 for the socket & then it's 3/4" drive so had to buy a adapter to use it on my 1/2" impact that cost $10...was $41 total at napa with tax....measure the nut to make sure of the sizes ,mine was 1 13/16".....I have the 54b with the linhai vertical engine.....

Well, received the clutch monday, installed it & it made a totally different noise then the one I replace,But only made it for a short time & then went away...Me & the wife took it for a 25-30 mile ride & all seems good...I'm thinking the pads on the clutch where rubbing on the bell,to start with & just need to be broke in if thats what you want to call it.......But runs good now....I'm keeping the old clutch,if for nothing spare parts....I actually think the old one is still good after being tore apart & cleaned & a little greased....it cost $41 for the socket & adapter to use it on my impact wrench... Thanks for all the help alley.....

the measurements are close & the splines on the bell are the same...My experience is if your measurements are close it's usually the same....

Well, the bearing didn't fix it...So,I went & spent $41 for a 1 13/16" socket & a 3/4" male x 1/2" female adapter to put socket on my impact. Then removed & tore the clutch apart ,was it ever gummed up..So,I cleaned it up & greased where it need....What I did fined is that the back part that has a shaft that the front part fits over & slides in & out on,well it was pitted & to my eyes seems to have a lot of wear.... I did reassemble it & installed it on the scoot & still have that raddle, but it don't seem to be as bad to me...But my wife thinks it is still as bad....So,I'm thinking of ordering a new clutch...I think this thing has a lot of wear on it...The scooter has almost 13000 miles on it...I have a second scooter the same model & it's going on 22000 miles & have never had any problems with it..... So,my question is,if there is wear on the main shaft of the rear part or the clutch & it has a little play when you slide the front part of the clutch over it, would this cause a raddle,I'm thinking it would...My wife got down to see where it's coming form & she agrees the the noise is in the clutch....I also think it makes the angle for the belt to ride on off & is making the belt wear quicker....I just installed the belt this spring & it has 1mm of wear on it already....the width is suppose to be 23mm it is now 22.2 mm....the belt may only have 1000 miles on it & it's a gates powerlink belt....When you rev the motor while on the center stand, you get a slight smell of rubber burning.......
