Hey everyone! I'm just about done with all the inspections, and fluid replacements on a 2008 Roketa 250B that I just bought used. Has 1,000 miles on it. Once the last plastics go on, it's going to be very difficult to be able to adjust the A/F mixture screw, since mine is the one located on the bottom side of the intake. I remember someone doing a mod that had a steel or metal cable attached to it, that let him adjustment screw from an extended location like a side body panel. Since I'll be running sea foam and all through her now to get her to run better, I'm sure I'll have to tweek the adjustment some more, and just want to be able to do it more easily. I can't find the link for that thread because of the four letter limitation on our search. Anyone have access to that, or know of an easier way to be able to adjust her? Thanks!!

Yours must be the MC 54B 250B with the horizontal engine. I have the MC 54 250B, vertical engine, and it has access to the adjustment under the seat with the battery cover off.
I guess this doesn't help answer your question, just pointing out there are two engines possible in the same scoot. .

Hi jetjock79, welcome to the forum, I have the same scoot and yes it is pain in you know where to djusy the a/f mixture screw. I use a pro adjustable screwdriver its about 17" long and bent at the end to make it easy to adjust. I guess my question would why do you want to adjust the a/f, what the scooter doing that you think you need to adjust the a/;f?

Jetcock, put white out on each side of the slot as that makes the slot show a lot better as its in a place where getting a lot of light there is difficult. I have a ratcheting nutdriver with a 45 deg angle that I put extensions on for ease of adjusting, they make long flexible screwdrivers also. leave the right bottom skirt off as that will give u more room etc. I have the linhai 257 also and I have my screw set 2 1/2 turn out, that's where it runs best. try that for a starting point and if it runs good, I would leave it alone. Thanks for all the advice! Allyoop.....that looks like exactly what I'm looking for! I'm just looking to acces my mixture more readily. As the sea foam starts working its magic, and as the seasons change,....I want to be able to set the scoot up just right on the fly. I do have the 90degree screw driver, but it works best with the plastics off on the right side. I'll see how much more attention she will need as the carb gets more and more clean as the sea foam does it's job. Thanks again for the insight!

Suggest you start a new thread, as your question is hidden way down in a thread about a different subject. You'll get a lot of answers that way, but you might want to tell a little more. Is it cranking, how do you know there's no spark, what checks have you done so far, etc.

I have 2 of the 257cc Yamaha clones & I just turn it out 2- 2 1/2 turns & never have a problem..I have 22250 miles on mine & my wife has 13500 miles on hers...We have had very little problems with them...Except for the normal...I have adjusted the valves on both scoots twice, the last time being the spring of 2014,I don't plan on doing it again, unless I get signs that they need it..like stalling while stopped at a light.. They go thru rear tires like every 3000-4000 miles....I don't know if you have the factory headlight bulbs in,if so I would change them out with these .ebay.com/itm/171740925612?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.ebay.com/itm/171740925612?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT, I've had very good luck with these bulbs & there brighter then the factory ones...I also changed out the tail lighs, turn signals & dash light bulbs with leds, along with a led flasher for turn signals..The belt on mine broke at 18000 miles,I replaced the wife's belt at 12000 miles...Had a problem with my wife's clutch,so I ordered a new one,but the original only needed to be disassembled & cleaned up & re-greased....Oh,I also replaced both vacuum fuel pumps with a lawnmower electric fuel pump bought at my local Napa auto parts store for $50 apiece..But other then my mods we have really enjoyed the scoots, they seem to actually be very reliable....Good luck Rcq..
