All the springs are still on the clutch...To my eyes it looks good....Should the shaft that the clutch goes on have a coat of grease on it?

well I pulled of the clutch & it looks good to me,the pads are about 3/16" of a inch thick....When I spin the back wheel with the clutch off I get a little resistance at one point, then it spins fine until I hit that spot again....this is my wifes scoot & she had a habit of giving gas while applying the brake & I would tell her it's not good for the bike...She always would gun it alittle when starting it....If it's the transmission, where can I get the parts if needed??

I've already had it off & put it back on & it is on tight & it's on right...I took all that apart this morning.......I had it all apart this morning....Also had the clutch off......Could it possibly be something with the clutch,I did inspect it & it looked fine....

ok,thanks allyoop...I'm not talking about the shaft that comes out of the engine,I'm talking about the piece that slides on that shaft that the variator slides open & close on....It seems like everything is working fine,I just can't believe it makes that much noise, the other 250b that I have is not that loud at all, actually it's quite.....Wow,what a difference between them....It rattles like it's going to fall apart...It was never this loud until a couple of weeks ago, until then it was quite like the other 250b......The springs in the clutch look good.....

Well,I did the screw drive thing..I have done that before on alternators on cars....I didn't hear anything...So,I pulled everything apart & didn't see anything that would be a problem....I pulled the variator apart to make sure all sliders were set in there right & also pulled the clutch off & did seem to be anything wrong with either of them...I did not pull the clutch apart, don't have the tools....I can't believe the sliders can be that noisy....It's a really noisy at idle...The other 250b that I have & installed the same sliders in,don't make that kind of noise....It also has a small smell of rubber burning when idling,But the belt looks good.... Question,is the belt cover suppose to get hot when the scoot is running, this thing almost gets to hot to touch......Also,is it ok to use bearing grease on the variator center shaft so it slides freely? Thats what I have used.....
