Not all Chinese products are bombs. There are numerous examples of well built Chinese products. This is one of them. CF Moto builds some quality products as many people have topped 10,000 miles with little or no trouble. The E-Charm had fuel injection before all the 150cc scooters that Kymco and SYM build did. It's fairly evident that Kymco builds a good product but at twice to three times the cost of Chinese scooters they ought to.

Squeeze both brakes and see what happens. I've had this problem on another 250 and it was the switch on the handlebar. Your horn has either a bad wire or the horn button is faulty. I never use my horn and one of my Kawasakis only worked after repeated pushes or moving my thumb around on the button. I guess the button rusted from non-use.

How about GS Motorworks. One of their Eagles was a Xingyue years ago. I don't know if John Sanchez is still with them but he would know if anyone would.

Gee MC, ya think? ? Wolf, what did I do? I keep telling you all... I'm the nicest guy you'll ever want to meet. And I'll keep saying it till someone believes me. M/C I've met you in person and I thought you were nice. I was glad to leave the Lance with someone who'd appreciate it.

You know what that's indicative of? Ignorance. Those people probably don't know one end of a wrench from another, can't ride worth a darn and feel smug about discovering scooters while the rest of the world drives gas guzzlers.
What's sad is that their attitudes don't enhance this sport or any sport. If the number of scooters is to ever increase beyond the small numbers that sell in America, scooter owners have to show some level of happiness and camaraderie that makes others want to dive in. It worked for Harley Davidson. Before all the "Mystique", HOG groups and "If I have to explain it you don't understand" sales pitch they only sold 80,000 units and were second banana to all the Jap bikes.
Even worse is what is to come. Honda's dual clutch bikes are already blurring the lines. Have you seen the NC700? A luggage compartment where the gas tank was that holds a full face helmet and automatic shift.
A reasonably priced 250 or smaller along the same lines would make a scooter a questionable purchase.
That was why I left SD. Too much arrogance, not enough riding. Anybody here remember Jim63's post about doing 2,800 miles in 14 days? Seriously? My math might be weak but that's an average of 200 miles a day. I brought my CF Moto home from 200 miles away in three and a half hours.
People who write such drivel as there is on SD now should try and remember that lurkers are seeing the junk and deciding not to join in. That type of bad publicity only hurts the sports image and makes people buy Honda Rebels.

I'm a registered Republican but what worries me about all this is the lack of knowledge people portray. I've taken enough economic courses to know that you couldn't straighten out the mess Bush left in just 4 years. Even Roosevelt needed almost 10 years and a World War to get the economy going again. Hoover was the fall guy for the Depression but it was Cooledge who avoided dealing with the excesses of Wall Street before him that started the boulder rolling.
I won't go into Congressional Republicans who were hell bent on fighting this President to make him fail instead of putting the American public first. Those guys should be shot.
Want to see the real story of Romney/Ryan? Watch Jon Stewart's Daily Show on Comedy Central. He blows the lid off the Republican Platform.
Just like the former President from Arkansas did at the Democratic convention. "Arithmetic". What a great line

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but metric doesn't use the old coarse/fine pitch method of SAE. A 19mm nut is a 19mm nut. I've trolled through enough drawers at my local hardware store for metric hardware and I never saw pitch differences.

I got banned and Doug reinstated me when he took over again. Still I don't go there anymore since I have nothing to say that they want to hear. Also I don't aspire to owning a Japanese scooter (anymore) and don't believe they're that hot having owned one. I've seen the inside of a Honda transmission and a CF Moto's. No difference. Well, ok, the Honda parts cost more but strangely enough the CF had "Made in Japan" all over its bearings. Statements like that would have had me in a lot of trouble over there.

I second what John said. The balance front to rear is more like 80/20. There's a reason many bikes come with drums in the back. The front is supposed to be doing most of the work. High performance motorcycles have two discs in the front for a reason.

I have a personal cost to mileage formula that might help. I expect 1,000 miles for every $100 I spend on something. If you think that you can get another 10,000 miles out of the bike go after it. I just bought one at a price that will easily make my ratio and have never yet bought anything that I didn't expect the mileage/cost to match.

John that just about sums it all up in one paragraph. It seems a lot of them have forgot the true definition of a scooter? Scooter = step through, motorcycle = step over and it doesn't matter what transmission they have. So these must be scooters then. I can step through them. Are they still scooters with a four speed foot shift, chain drive and seventeen inch spoke wheels?
