Get a hair dryer and start blowing hot air on the carb and electric stuff (CDI, coil and spark plug). You could actually have ice in the float bowl or moisture in the electrics. I'm betting if you dragged it into a heated garage or the house it would be fine after a few hours.

Puma and Wolf are both Znen scooters and are sold by dealers. The Lance Havana, Cali Classic and PCH are made by SYM and sold by dealers. The secret to a good Chinese scooter is basically how well all the niggling little faults are squeezed out of them before they hit the road. That has to be done by a dealer or you depending if it was bought online or from a brick and mortar store. Also a realistic appraisal of how it will be used is paramount. If you need a scooter that has to run flat out all day buy a used Japanese scooter off Craigslist. The Yamaha Vino 125 has been around for years and sometimes can be found in your price range.

don't get me wrong, seafoam can clean....no doubt about it....yes it eats and deforms non metal pars of the carbs and fuel system in PROLONGED contact and it's based from experience. just ignore rapidjim's tagging my name in his post, he has a personal grudge on me. he just can't get over it, he wants to crash me anyway he can,,,same as KZ...he recently photoshopped something in my account on the other forum. Luke at his best. scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=8851&page=2BTW, I vote for Seafoam too. It's been amazing stuff and has a long history of helping engines weather winter and keep carburetors clean.

The Maxima looks fine. Yes, that is the right Seafoam and as "Jim" says, add it to the fuel tank to keep your carburetor clean. Don't fret about the oil. As long as it's two stroke specific it will be fine. The Maxima is a synthetic blend, that should be great. Regular dino two stroke oil served me fine back in the day. Remember that the oil lubes the bearings, rings and wrist pin and then is flushed up into the combustion chamber and burned. It doesn't hang around long enough to suffer molecular shear or Thermal Viscosity Breakdown and flows through the engine and out the exhaust pipe. Two stroke oil leaves fewer deposits when burned. If you ever saw an old sixties two stroke with clogged exhaust ports and muffler baffles from using regular four stroke oil you'd know why a two stroke specific oil is essential. Also buying oil from the dealer helps you keep your face in front of him when you buy oil. It never hurts to have a dealer on your list of resources.

18,000!!! Way to go. It won't be long before most Chinese scooter stories start with, "I just turned 30,000 and it's running like a Swiss Watch."

For how long? Obviously two stroke oil is made to be burned but it also protects bearings and rings like four stroke oil.

Regular is fine, although I run mid grade myself. A little Seafoam once in a while will eliminate ethanol problems.

It's just from sitting. A long ride will clear it out. Two strokes always smoke and are simple to fix anyway. Good luck, you made a good choice. The Yamaha will serve you well.

Most two wheelers crank with the kill switch turned to off. It's a famous prank to do that to someone on a motorcycle. Not a nice prank, but a famous one.

Good choice. I second the good two stroke oil. Back in time I had a two stroke street bike. I used a good oil for two strokes and had 30,000 trouble free miles, before I sold it. The best part is that you have dealer backup. Even with an inexpensive Chinese scooter like the Lance that's important. The biggest problem with Chinese is that they sell online. Catching the flaws is what a dealer does and most people aren't equipped for that. Plus he'll have the parts for a quick repair. Let us know what the final verdict is and good luck. Just be careful out there.

I am still considering the used Zuma 50 (2013 4-stroke) just because I've heard it's a better bike overall than most of these others I've been testing which are a bit cheaper and not made in Japan.
I would stick with the Yamaha regardless. The engine came out of the homely C-3 and is quite robust. A couple rode a C-3 across Canada two up, problem free several years ago. Not to put a knock on the others, SYM builds a quality bike, but Yamaha has been in the business a long time. My experience with two strokes, admittedly from many years ago, is that with one person acceleration is brisk, but put a load on it, such as a passenger and it doesn't have the low end torque a four stroke does. In most urban settings, how a machine accelerates from a stop light is crucial. If speed is critical size matters alot. I'm sure there are 72cc kits for the Yamaha that will make a two stroke's allure pale. Don't dwell so much on speed as reliability. Plus I seem to recall a quote of $1000 for the Yamaha.

Good Choices. Obviously the Roughhouse and Zuma are at the top. If you can get the Zuma for a grand-DO IT! There are plenty of mods that can be made and the bike is absolutely bullet proof. I normally would be talking up Chinese scooters but having lived in Brooklyn, NY I know that work space is almost non-existent and the unit has to be totally reliable. A Yamaha Zuma has a three valve, fuel injected engine if I'm not mistaken and the reviews have been phenomenal. Dealers are everywhere and upkeep costs should be minimal. I was in Boston to see "Sue, the T-Rex" years ago and the place is like Manhattan. My Brother-In -Law lives in Andover. A 50cc Zuma will fit right in.alves No wait! The Zuma is a two stroke! .bikez.com/motorcycles/yamaha_zuma_2013.php" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.bikez.com/motorcycles/yamaha_zuma_2013.phpAbsolutely go for it! No valves, no oil changes, Way to go in an Urban environment.

Talk to these guys. Scooters Go Green (617) 269-0050 220 Old Colony Ave, Boston, MA 02127 It appears they sell Genuine Buddy scooters and maybe others. You need a good, strong scooter to go two up on a 50cc. Otherwise there are mail order options but in an Urban setting a good scooter is priceless. They sell Lance, Hyosung and SYM too. .scootersgogreen.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.scootersgogreen.com/
