.scooterdoc.proboards.com/inde....2#ixzz2a2D29ocb" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.scooterdoc.proboards.com/inde....2#ixzz2a2D29ocbyes, you are right they are well assembled BUT the materials used to manufacture each parts are very poor in quality , low grade and the tensil strength is very low. for example, the crank case of a chinese scooter is manufactured using same materials as the aluminum pots and pans in your kitchen. isnt that crazy?!! some vital parts are made out of melted clips from cans of soda. can you imagine riding that scooter at high speed??? youll probably end up in the morgue. omg!!! god forbid! some are really fascinated with those chinese scooties because they are dirt cheap, but if you think of its quality you end up paying more and end up being screwed !! japanese scoots, especially the yamahas are manitenance free. my morphous doesnt need to be maintained, YES i changed the cvt grease, oil seal , trans oil EVENTHOUGH it doesnt need to be changed, its just that i want those parts new. Its just me. otherwise it can run forever. kz said that i always re grease my cvt assembly, there was no need tho, i just want to replenish the old grease. you can actually buy a chinese scooter provided you need to sign up for AMA or AAA motorcycle roadside assistance.Says Luke.

Flintstone, to me that rant makes no sense at all.
By using that poor fool's theory he claims that some parts of the Chinese scooters are made out of melted aluminum tabs... so that means that the parts on our scooters are made out an alloy consisting of over 95% aluminum and 5% or less magnesium. There are more holes in his theory but they are not worth my time.
It's safe to say that he doesn't have a clue of what he's talking about.

Guys how many times has a thread/subject came up like this? What does it accomplish? Only response to this is no person is working for any one? I don't even get paid! ;D scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=150cc&action=display&thread=8244Why would this disappear? If and only if it breaks the rules of PB's and just plain common decency rules of getting along. I do believe people can have a discussion of the pros and cons of both types of scooters, just like you can have a discussion on the many ways to cook sweet potatoes? Some say they like them baked while others prefer them fried? So I'm open to a "friendly" discussion on why or why not you like/dislike the scooters you do/don't own/ride. Want to have a pissing match and hang people on the cross then by all means go here: scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talk&action=display&thread=8163Please do me a favor though, find someone besides myself and Doug to hang, we've had our share so to speak. I agree with JR, I'm open for a healthy debate but most of the Chinese scooter/ATV bashing is related to bad experiences from owners who don't treat these things very well IMO and there are youtube videos to confirm this claim.

JR I agree absolutely Jack. I think all your people should read the "Pissing Match" at Doc. Especially the part where Luke refereed to Rapid Jim as a Drug Dealer. Imagine a man who serves the public so well being maligned as a " purpose to piss off the three stooges" But honestly Jack? How did Luke convince you " i have finally convinced magoo that chinese scoots are junk". Did he convince you too?

KZ I'm sorry, I really don't know what you're talking about? Luke hasn't convinced me of anything? Luke posts here just on an occasion, has been polite and has never mentioned any of the people on Doc that seem to be in this circle of people fussing, disagreeing, or whatever you want to call it? I've never thought you think that Chinese scooters are junk, they would to say the least be outrageous since you own some Chinese scooters. So again I don't have any idea what you are talking about? If it is something in one of the threads at Doc then I missed it? As far as my feelings in all honesty I like all scooters, I favor the Chinese scooters because they are cool to me, easy to work on, a good investment if you're not a total non-mechanical person and have the time and means to work on them. I also think name brand scooters have there place and are correct for the people who like them just like I like the Chinese ones. I've teased and funned with Luke in the past about his scooter which I think is a good scooter but in honesty I think it's ugly but I think the helix is ugly too, no big deal it's just my opinion. I think the scooter issue no matter what side of the street you are on has been way over played, it's become a "my dog is bigger than your dog" thing for a long time and myself it is getting old and it has caused hard feelings among many it seems. Myself I'm tired of it. In all honesty and sincerity I think it's time to do like two people recently done and bury the hatchet. I like now having someone that now I call a friend and when him and I talk it's like it's supposed to be. I sleep better at night. Three stooges, calling names, etc. etc. want to do that then again keep it where people seem to enjoy it. Want to discuss the good things people want to talk about then by all means lets get started but again I haven't the faintest idea of what you are saying about the who convinced who of anything? I been staying away from these kinds of discussions for a spell now, one like I said it's just a brawl at times, two I've been spending a lot of time with my family on vacations and at the lake and a lot of my spare time has been devoted to getting two forums ready for the V5 software conversion and that's coming up before you know it. Here the latest preview of my test forum and how I've been dressing it up: thescooterprofessor.freemessageboards.com/This has been work and takes a lot of time. JR

Alright Jack. I must confess I used this as a tactic to watch Luke squirm. Now that I see he's just pretending to be a jerk over at Doc to get attention, I'm satisfied. We can all enjoy his report on his trip to New Mexico when it comes. See you later.

I have owned 3 Chinese scoots. 2 were trouble free, one was not. I think that Chinese quality has greatly improved once they understood the needs of the market place. Lets face it, how many millions of Chinese scoots are running in China and other countries. My personal preference is for Taiwanese products but that is just my preference, not a slam on Chinese scoots. Nuff sais, lets move on.

I clearly remember the days when "Riceburners" from anywhere in Asia were pretty junky (talking about cars now). Today they absolutely rule the market, and lots of people think they put Detroit to shame. I can envision the same trend for scooters; the Japanese got in on the ground floor, but I won't be surprised if China/Korea/Taiwan continue to improve to the point where they are serious competition. I've bought two Chinese scoots in the past year, knowing full well that I was buying cheap and needed to anticipate some maintenance and associated expense.

well i really wish and pray that the chinese's will improve the quality of their scooters and ALL the products that are chinese... in these hard times people still want to buy cheaper scoot that fit their budget. but its been 40 years now they still didnt improve, i dunno whats preventing them(chinese people) from making quality products, i dont think its monetary because china as a whole is a very progressive country now, i think it's their mentality, values, PROFIT the the only thing in their minds. and as a theory, mass production of anything jeopardizes the quality. if kz will agree with me, i promise to drop this chinese scooter issue and never mention it again.

Well, I don't have a dog in this fight but I do find the footnote " The following scooterists" to be offensive and such personal attacks have no place on this forum in my humble opinion. JR, . :#
