I'm paying a whopping $120 per year for the Rebel, $28 per for the Fashion and about $32.50 for the Cub Clone. Of course I have four cars on the policy so I probably get a discount.

I'm betting this is the old "Bad Throttle Slide Diaphragm" Syndrome again. Does the 260 use a different carb than the CN 250 J.R.?

I'm with the "smell from the recovery bottle vent" contingent. My Voyager has the same smell after driving on a hot day. Anti-freeze has a very pungent odor. Spill two drops on a hot exhaust manifold and see how far the smell travels. As long as you don't have any puddles, white smoke or have to refill it every week you're fine.

What is it they say? "I resemble that remark."

Did you adjust the valves? It sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Spray WD-40 around the carb and intake and then listen for any hissing noises that indicate a hose with a crack.

I've done both in my lifetime. I hear all the knocks on shifting but I think it's overdone. I lived on Long Island with some of the worst traffic jams in the world and never suffered on a bike in it. My best bike went 125,000 miles and was all original when I sold it. Since it was shaft drive it never needed a chain, belt or replacement of either.
Now I have a 250 scooter just for something different. My wife has a bike I can use if I feel the need to shift. It's a 250 too and gets identical gas mileage. My wife smokes me all the time on takeoff, so I guess it depends on the rider.
The problem with any scooter, large or small, is side drafts. Using the Interstate on one is an exercise in control. Much more than a bike.
A Wise Man here once said, "Scooters don't belong on an interstate. You're just asking for trouble if you do." So you have to ask yourself what you plan to do with it.

Hah, not "Ugly", it's Fugly! But darn it, it works.
I hate to tell you guys this but my 86 year old Dad is still swinging his leg over a 2000 750 Kawasaki, not to mention his Cannondale. I think you guys can handle a T-Max.
DCT was first used on Honda's VFR 1400 and now has moved down to a 700cc. When it moves down to 500 and 250s it will truly shake up the industry. Imagine a 300cc, twin cylinder Integra. Vespa will go extinct.

Simplicity is going away fast. Scooters with fuel injection are not simple. Witness the BMS TBX 260 as a coming trend. If it succeeds it will change the way the Chinese do business. Oh, and you can't put a 24 pack on its floorboards either.
Hey, does that make my Helix clone a motorcycle??!!

They put saddlebags and top box on this bike for a reason. That's where milk belongs. If I want to carry a hay bale I have a car. Here's the real beauty of this design. You really can tour with it or commute on an interstate without fear of crosswinds, never mind how fast it is.

MC-13-250 wieghs 271 lbs..
Are you sure about that? My 150 weighs 272. My wife's Rebel weighs 330. I see Superiorpowersports says 286 but I have a hard time with that even.
There's very little difference in the Helix and CN 250. Many parts interchange as I discovered when I bought a transmission shaft. The big difference between a Honda and a Roketa is in materials and workmanship. There's a reason why a Helix listed for $5500 and a Roketa is under $2000. I've held the Japanese shaft and Chinese counterpart in my hands and the differences in just appearance was marked. Helix owners have gone over 100,000 miles with ridiculous regularity. It will be interesting to see how many Roketas and Helix clones reach that mileage.

We bought single seat, 5 hp go karts for my kids 10 years ago. They had no suspension to speak of and admittedly were pretty good on mostly level grass. One still runs, the other was crashed into oblivion. We spent $1500 a piece. My kids scarcely used them. Video games were cleaner and the fridge was closer.
