The scooter if all he says is correct would be a good deal but I'm not so sure on the Kelley Blue Book thing? Didn't know they listed Chinese scooters?
He says 1k is firm but I'm betting if he hasn't sold it he would look reall serious at 8 pretty $100 bills!

Kelly Blue Book on this scoot at retail is $850.00, trade in value is $520.00. Info is easy to find, KellyBlueBook .com. KBB does list Chinese scoots such as Roketa, Tank, and others. Once they are popular enough they get listed is my guess. I agree with JR, 8 bills would be a good offer. But I am a little uncomfortable with the claim of $1000.00 being the KBB value. It pays to be careful when buying on Craigslist. Take a friend with you and set up a meeting in a public place.

PS: The seller has added a few extras and that may be why he is asking a grand on the 2008 model.

As I successfully bought both my bikes from CL, I would seriously consider this one, even at asking price. Here's why, and don't laugh. Look in the background. I see a VERY clean garage. This guy at first glance appears to pay attention to details. Odds are he is as meticulous with his bike. As far as the extras are concerned, there's not many 'extras' on the bike, just the radio. The leather seat is a nice touch. The rest is maintenance items, and I think of it as less I have to do. The helmet and cover would save you about $100, or more, alone if you don't yet have one.
I would verify everything he says he's done in person. You could offer less, but around my area, you wouldn't get one close to that cheap.

I have a personal cost to mileage formula that might help. I expect 1,000 miles for every $100 I spend on something. If you think that you can get another 10,000 miles out of the bike go after it. I just bought one at a price that will easily make my ratio and have never yet bought anything that I didn't expect the mileage/cost to match.

Wonderful discussion guys and very informative, I learned about the Blue Book myself. Now today my shop was kaos so it was worth nothing but I spent 5 hard hours cleaning it up and organizing so I raised the price! But I really do see Wheezy's point. JR

Thanks for all the input guys. This bike is still for sale and is about an hour and a half drive from my apartment to pick up and I found another one closer to home with only 550 miles on it that I'm going to check out first. I'll keep you posed on what direction I end up going.
