Following a link posted either here or on doc this afternoon I landed on the forum with the idiot mod. I was laughing so hard I had to check my shorts. Its no wonder so many scooters get trashed. The advice being given to some of those kids was so far from right that it would be totally amazing that they ever get their scooter to run again after following all the wrong solutions to simple problems. Common sense should rule out 3/4 of the posters on several threads I read.
I seldom have gone there for any reason this last couple years due their policy of banning so many knowledgeable scooter people. I know if those people were not banned there we would see many of the fools there quit posting miss-information. john

HAHAHA, I like the one where the guy tells the dude WITH NO SPARK that it is NOT his CDI BECAUSE that is AC and it only comes into play after the motor is running. Alleyoop

It does seem more and more like people are not only leaving due to bad policies by those who do try to run the place but also because some just plain make people angry with their I know it all BS. This one right here still cracks me up: scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=new&action=display&thread=52531Howdy forum I'll leave my introduction here. I'm from, and living, in Rockingham, NC and I've got myself a 49cc Honda Ruckus. I built engines for two years as a part time after school job then went on to a Trade school where I learned the ins and outs of every part of a car. I'm certified in HVAC, hydraulics, diesel repair, heavy trucks, transmission repair, factory trained by Mercedes Benz to work on their vehicles bumper to bumper for a range of models spanning 30 years, I've worked on cars for 5 years and know them pretty damn well, I can do wood work, plumbing, painting, roofing, concrete, a little welding and torching, excavating and yard work, trouble shoot machinery I've never seen before in my life and operate all forms of equipment. I can probably do more but I can't remember what it is! If there is an opportunity to do something new I'm all for doing it.
I came to the forum to get an answer to a question I had about my brothers scooter and after browsing the questions on the forum I feel the knowledge I've collected in the past 15 years will benefit anyone with the patience to answer a few questions I may have and the ability to perform a few simple tasks.
I'll try and hang around regularly in-case I can learn a few things or even do some teaching.
Nothing wrong with the things he's learned but he's only 31 years old and I love the way he says "I'll hang around to teach everyone how to do stuff." He's already taught me something, How to laugh! JR

Is this guy for real??? I visit Asheville, NC, where I was raised, often to visit my sons and see a lot of 50cc scoots struggling with the intown steep hills. This guy should move up there and share his immense knowledge with the scootering public there. Having reread his posting I think this is a great 'put on' by a troll with nothing better to do in life.

Now that's plain funny Wolf! No this guy just appeared there one day and has over 600 posts, like you said owns a 50cc scooter but that hasn't stopped him from telling everyone with anything that is a scooter what to do.
He's made a lot of people mad with that I know it all attitude and he's not been around much from what I've seen lately.
We were all noobs at one time and nothing wrong with trying to help people and learn along the way but what gets me is some of the things especially in the 250 section that if you don't know you should just read and learn. One of my favorites is when guys who have never owned or ridden a 250 scooter tell people that they can kick start the scooter if the electric starter won't work.
Another thing is vendors especially the parts people who really step over the rules established there long ago and everytime someone mentions something like "maybe it's the CDI" they jump on the chance to say " I got one if you need it." In the early days vendors were allowed to simply say to a person asking about a part PM me.
It's like a lot of things every thing has it's hay day, it's the best around but if not managed by good people it goes downhill pretty fast.
What's even more hilarious is the censorship by the only active mod there now of this forum. People have come here and said they didn't know if other links from both of the other forums were allowed and we all know there is no censorship of helpful links from the other forums here.

following that link about overreved I found one post where he tells some one that batteries produce dc voltage! That isn't what I was taught. (they store electrical energy.......why they are called storage batteries)
I have said it before, that "big" forum would be a little one if they weeded out all the dead posters. Like those who have not posted in 6 months.

I know he always has something to say to what ever situation the scooter guy is asking, he is driver more people off there, plain and simple (his a jerk) He needs to realize rookies need a change to learn what its all about too. I even tried to recommend them to this sight and somehow they take scooter professor name out of the pm that I sent

If you mention scooter professor to anyone you have to do it like this or any variation that is a little different, like using a zero for a O or adding spaces. Sc00ter Profess0r S cooter P rofessor This keeps the word ban function from picking it up. Sad very sad. JR

Sometime on that forum they seem that they don't want to share their knowledge to fix the problem and so I try to help with my experiences and I know this forum really does want to help and I've learn so much from you and others on this forum, so when I can send people this way I know they will be help
