Main thing is : Don't forget to eat CORN BEEF AND CABBAGE ! It's a must...... Anyone have another food that has to be eaten on the first day of the year ? Let's have it. This could get interesting, maybe from around the world !

ccprof , I do believe that it was last year at midnight I was ridding my scoot to bring in the new year. It was a cold 6 mile ride around the block but I can say I was on the scoot ( MC-54-250 B ) and maybe the first to bring in the new year on the 2 wheeler.

True story : One evening I came home pretty late with a hunger in my belly. As I checked out the frige , I saw a big bowl half full of spagetti . Wow , just for me . So I gathered up the bowl , grabbed some butter, then got a couple of pieces of bread from the drawer. Oh ! I forgot the glass of milk. Anyway, as I sat there eating away my father walked in and saw that I was eating out of the bowl . I think that upset him a little as he said to me, " Your going to eat all of the spagetti that's in the bowl ." After drinking all the milk from the glass, I did get up and get a glass of water to finish off the meal but I did sit back down and started eating again. After all the spagetti was gone , I sat back in the chair and said, "THAT WAS REALLY GOOD, IS THERE ANY MORE ? " Now I don't know if he was mad or if he couldn't take it anymore but as he turned to go down the hall I could here him grumbling. So don't underestimate how much a growing boy can eat or what he might eat . If I had found a basket of burnt biscuits , they would have been gone.

These are great mirrors, I like them. Saved my kister several times from pulling out and hitting someone in the blind spot. When another vehickle front end is at your front door you can't see it in a regular mirror, but with a small mirror like the one here , you can detect the vehickle in the blind spot. Butt saved ...

The lake I fish is drawn down because of the spring flood waters. It is controlled by the Army Corp of Engineers at Louisville, Ky . The water flows into the Wabash River , then into the Ohio River and then flows into the Mighty Mississippi . There are 2 or 3 other lakes that flow into the Wabash and they are also lowered due to the spring rains and the flooding. If I ride my scoot over to the park, I have a lot of kids ask about my scoot too . A lot of them are kids twice over if you know what I mean. LOL's

Hey JR , Got any more seeds ? I would really like to start some trees on my property. I may not see them bare fruit but I would like to feed the wildlife even after I'm gone. Hummm, How about some PAW PAW seeds? Used to be some of those around here too but there gone also .

Spare motor

Went to a auto parts store today and bought a valve lappin tool and some compound. Did me some lappin on the valves. Want them valves to seat really tight for compression. Ron, a friend of mine, made a compression tool with a C-clamp and welded 2, 2 inch channels on the C-clamp to compress the valve springs to install the keepers. Very neatly done... AT this point I have all the parts and my next move is to start putting the scoot back together on my next days off. Tvnacman, Yes I do have one of them there wrenches and I have used it a couple of times. Got it at Harbor Freight when it was on sale for $9.95.

Hi All. First let me thank you for the help you have given me. Now let me telll you where we are at on the scooter. Motor and back unit is off the frame. The head and piston is out. tvnacman was riight on when he said " If your spark plug looks like this, Your piston may look like that." Wow, was he on the money ! .. I ordered the parts from S.D. on a Tuesday and recived them on Friday, Not bad at all. The only thing is, the valves and springs were in a bag and not placed in the head. Oh well, I guess I can get this done at a motorcycle shop. Again , Thanks for the help.
