Well it's been sometime since I've mentioned my stepson Zachary, a great kid and in 2009 we bought him a new 50cc scooter for Christmas. Got her all ready and all Zachary had to do is pass the motorcycle written test and ride it!
He this summer at 15 now passed his written and driven drivers test but for whatever reason he has just not been able to get over the hump on the Arkansas motorcycle test UNTIL TODAY!
This kid has almost memorized the book but he just keeps so anxious when testing he would fail it most of the time by one or two questions and the frustration set in to a point he threw in the towel until this past week I said "hey what about another try?"
Out came the book and study, study study. I picked him up from school and then told him this is just a test, not life or death, sun will still rise tomorrow and set today so just go in relax, take your time and don't worry about it one way or another.
It's a computerized test, 25 questions and you must make a 80% or get 20 right. As you take the test if you reach the point of getting 6 wrong the computer shuts down and says fail. If you reach 20 right then it shuts down and says pass so there is no such thing as making 100% just reach the 20 right plateau or 6 wrong. You can skip a question if you like and they will come back up at the end provided you have not passed or failed by that time.
So today he just kicked back and slowly took the test and he skipped two and they both came back up at the end so he knew he had either 18 right or 19 so he answered the first skipped question and then it came up to the last skipped question which told him he had 5 wrong and this was the do or die question!
He felt like he knew the correct answer when he skipped it before but decided to move on and so he answered it like he felt the first time and BINGO up came the test over YOU PASSED!!!
Now you talking a bout a kid that smiled ear to ear! Next Wednesday he'll take the driven part and I fell he'll do fine so we now have another scooter rider and since he's grown so much I told him he could have the Bali and the 50cc will stay for a future rider to,learn on and he's already bugging me to ride! LOL
Finally he PASSED!!

Congratulations Zachary! Welcome to the forum? Being a scoot owner and aspiring rider, I would assume you are, of course, a proud member of your generous grandpa's forum.

Congratulations Zachary, I know how it feels to pass that test, after 40 year wait, I passed with a smile and tears in my eyes. Your a great step-dad JR, for taking time to be an encourager to Zachary.
