A coworker wants to get a JCL MP-250A like mine. The place I got mine is less than reputable. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good dealer who will prep the scoot and ship it? Ernie

Keep in mind all the aggravation you must go through when buying a new scooter on line. The PDI is a killer and worth plenty to my way of thinking.

Not sound like a parts replacer but when I had that same problem, I replaced the carburetor and that cured it.
I have the old new one if anybody would like to try to rebuild it, come and get it. Free to a good home.

Now that the warm weather is here, I notice my rubber floorboards trying to curl up around the edges. I guess carpet tape isn't the answer to hold them onto the metal floorboards.
I am researching a good adhesive that sticks rubber to metal. Any ideas are appreciated.

Sorry folks. I've been absent for a while. The switch is for the electric enricher circuit. Off cuts the power to the enricher so the motor will idle up until the temp gauge says normal op temp. I flip the switch to On and 12 volts is restored and the plunger drops, allowing the motor to idle smoothly.

For what it's worth, the Roketta, JCL and one or two others are made by Benzhou and private labled.

Geeeeeze Oh Man, Richard! I'm gone for a few weeks and look what you've gotten yourself into. <jk> I have always found that when in doubt, replace the part and you know you've eliminated that part of the problem. I hope you get your scoot fixed soon. Riding weather is almost upon us. Ernie

Ernie, what holds them in place and where did you get them? Here is the link to where I got the diamond pattern rubber for the floorboards. .rubbercal.com/Diamond_Plate.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.rubbercal.com/Diamond_Plate.htmlOne sheet 12" X 48" is sufficient. $8.50 + shipping I traced the rubber around the aluminum floorboard then cut it exactly the same size as the aluminum floorboard. I used Roberts 2-sided sticky carpet tape to mount the rubber to the floorboard. Then I poked holes in the rubber from underneath the aluiminum floorboard for the screws. I went up one size from the OEM screws X 1" and used decorative stainless washers. Screw the whole thing on to the scooter as you normally would. Don't make the screws too tight as the decorative washers will cut the rubber. There is a picture at the beginning of this post. Have fun Ernie i121.photobucket.com/albums/o210/egn6/P1000457.jpg

I may be wrong but I don't think the electrical system can not handle more than a 35W bulb for very long. If this is still working for you with no problems next year, I'll have to try it, too.

Hey Ernie, We have the same SOUND SYSTEM Looks good Works pretty good doesn't it for the price. I did not want to cut out a slot for the Radio itself So I mounted mine right behind the wind sheild. How did you mount the speakers I just bent a piece of brass and used one of the screws on each side and a little Velcro under the speakers. Weird that the screw on the right clamp for the brake cylinder came out. Alleyoop I screwed them on from underneath the dashboard panel after drilling a small hole for the wires and plugs. Ernie

I was looking at this old pic and damned if I didn't see where the missing bolt belongs. I should pay more attention! Ernie

I have been riding motorcycles for over 40 years and it seems I always end up owning black ones. Black was always thought to be a difficult color and I have tried numerous products. I like PigSnot for it's deep luster and resistance to swirl scratches. Now that I have a two tone red and silver plastic managerie, I am learning that different materials and different colors react in different ways to different products. PigSnot didn't thrill me. I tried using an aircraft plexiglass spray polish which wasn't bad. Today I was bored and tried an old jug of Mothers reflections premium polish in a red plastic bottle. WOWEE!!!!! Now I can see my teeth reflecting from the silver and the red has an unbelievable depth. It looks so good, I went down to the garage, mounted my kayuse, put on my tinfoil hat and made bbbbbbrrrrrrruuuummm bbbbbbbbrrrrrrruuuuummmm noises. I hate winter!!! I was just curious what your favorite shine products are. One can never apply too much shine yanno. Ernie

You wouldn't think such a minor change would matter but it turns it into a better looking scooter.

I have noticed that when I first start my cold blooded JCL, it idles up to close to 3,000rpm until it warms up. After warm up, it settles back down to 1,800rpm like it should. It must be the sliders. Ernie
