If you find out how, let me know. Mine rides like the back wheel is a stone.
I have come to realize why Honda's and Yamaha are more expensive.

When mine sits for a few weeks, I must crank it for a long time til it kicks but it stalls 3 or 4 times, then something happens and the tach jumps up a few hundred rpm and it's fine. I just figgered the gas in the bowl evaporated and it is cold blooded. Ernie

I have a 2007 JCL 250 and my front wheel developed a slow leak. The reason for the leak was factory paint overspray on the bead of the wheel oxidizing and flaking.
I thought this to be odd since I changed to Dunlop tires when I got the scooter and it held air for three years.
Just a heads up guys.

Thanks guys! After I looked at it, it was pretty obvious. I was just worried about the speedometer cable which simply fell out.
Putting it all back on was another story. Us fat guys have problems bending over yanno.

What do I need to know to remove the front wheel on my JCL250 without messing up the speedometer or brakes.
I have an air leak and need to remove the front wheel. Thanks Ernie

I was reading about someone riding to a reunion 5,000 miles away. Gawwwd, man, you must have an iron butt.
My JCL rides so hard, all my fillings are loose and I think it has dislocated what's left of my spine. I dread driving up over the curb into my driveway!
Is there anything I can do to this JCL 250 to make it ride better? It feels like the seat is bolted to the axles.

Oil ????

I'm sorry to ask this but since I haven't done it a over a year, can anyone tell me whether the big end or the small end of the little fitting in the oil drain goes in first? When the bolt comes off, it all flies out and ya can't see how it came out with the little screen. Hell, I can't even remember if the screen goes in first or last when you are putting it back together. Ernie

I haven't been on here in ages since I had my hip replaced last May but I'm getting my trusty JCL ready for the road again.
Nice to see the board has grown a lot. I guess scooters get into your blood and under your fingernails.

does the new hip help your moblity i looking at needing one replace It helps my mobility after only 9 months of being as clumsy as an ox. Mobility is a relative thing. I also have lumbar stenosis and can not stand or walk more than a few blocks before intense back pain sets in. As far as the hip goes, if you are a little guy, you'll mend much faster than a 300lb'er like me. Be very careful who you choose to do the surgery. Get lots of references. Do NOT sign the release that says your leg may end up longer or shorter. Mine is 9/16" shorter now and I must have soles added to my left shoes to compensate. Some docs go in through the front, some through the back but the side is the one with the least amount of complications. When they go in, they will rip the living shit out of your leg muscles in order to get in there to work. You will have a few restrictions for the first few months but you must constantly do physical therapy to heal those leg muscles. I walked with a cane for a while, maybe six months. Now I walk pretty good and I can even go down stairs like a normal person without fear of falling. My hip was bone on bone and had to be replaced. I hope I never have to have the other one done. Hope this helps. Oh, don't believe all the bull shit people give you about how you'll be up on it the first day and back to work in a few weeks. It just ain't so! Ernie

Flintstone, what year is that scoot in the picture. I can see that it is a 54 250B as it is on the rear cover. I have a 2008 MC 54 250B and it has a vertical 244CC engine. So I am curious to see if they use the same nomenclature for both engines. I am assuming that yours is the horizontal engine, but may be wrong. The Roketa catalog shows the horizontal engine to be numbered as MC 54B 250. .roketa.com/product/productlist/2610.shtml" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.roketa.com/product/productlist/2610.shtml. My seat is different from that one and my front cowl panel and windshield do not fit so perfectly as yours. There is a bulge in the panel over where the windshield screws are. Not a lot but definitely not smooth as yours seems to be. That is a nice looking scoot you have. . Mine is a 2007 JCL with a horizontal cylinder 257CC

Hello again after a new hip replacement back in May and minor throat surgery, I'm back in the saddle. I keep the scoot plugged into the battery tender for the winter and I start it up once a week to keep gas in the carb. Starts right up most of the time. That being said, I'm wondering if there is anything I can do with the rear shocks on my JCL to make it ride smoother. When I go over the curb thing in the driveway or hit even a tiny pot hole, the whole thing goes BANG and sends a jolt right up my spine.

Hi Folks. Sorry I have been absent from the board. In May, I had a full hip replacement and recouperation has been a SOB. I have only been out on the scoot twice all summer and it still runs great. In the spring I will need to change the oil and get a new state inspection sticker.
I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy. ;D

No, not the scooter...me! I got a full hip replacement on May 15th and I haven't felt like I should ride the scooter yet. It sucks because summer is passing before my eyes and I'm hobbling around on a cane.
