Richard I don't know about candlepower but it seems to me that a helmet mounted spot light makes sense. Ernie

Has anyone gone ahead and installed rubber floorboards over the aluminum? It really improves the look and you don't have to worry about scratching the aluminum anymore.

A buddy of mine from Florida came up and bought my Valkyrie and took it home. He said the first thing he did was remove the turn signal beeper. It sounded like the reverse beepers all the old folks down there use. Ernie

Thanks Richard. I'm insufferably pleased with myself over the floorboards. I wish you the best of 2012. Keep the plastic side up! Ernie

Nawww! It fills the entire indentation. It's just the odd angel of the picture. That area you are pointing to is an up hill curve. The screw is pointing straight to the front of the scooter in the apex of the curve. It's a bad picture.

I did not miss a spot. The rubber is glued to the aluminum floorboards and trimmed exactly as it is supposed to be.

I got tired of the tacky aluminum floorboards on my MP250A getting scratched and nasty looking so I ordered some 3mm thick rubber sheeting with a diamond pattern on one side and solved that problem. I removed the OEM floorboards and applied very sticky carpet tape along both edges. I then applied the rubber and cut around the edge for proper fitment. A heat gun must be used to soften the adhesive and the rubber. Lastly, I drilled holes through from the underside and mounted them on the scooter using #12X1" tapered head sheet metal screws and decorative washers. Total time, about 2hours and I work slowly.

When that happened to me, I replaced a fuse just below the right rear of the seat under the plastic.

Hi Ernie, right now I have about 7,500 miles on my scoot, I change oil about every 1,000 miles. changed grear oil not to long ago, the scraping noise is more just when I'm starting out, can't hear it after that, I just had the back tire off and brakes recently when I put the new tire on, its good there. I have read that your clutch pads can glaze over, it might be that? Don't knoe unmtil I get in ther. Did you replace your main clutch spring when you put your sliders in? (Thanks for the info:) No Richard, I did not replace the clutch spring. Twas only by the grace of God that I got those (%%# sliders in right finally. Ernie

Richard How many miles on your scooter? How many miles between oil changes? When does it make the scraping noise? Is it constant? Under acceleration? Does it go away or get louder when you apply the rear brake? I was waiting for one of the experts to respond but since nobody has, you're stuck with me. Noises can be cured by process of elimination. Make sure you don't have a small stone stuck between your brake pad and rotor. If you want to remove the cover to check the CVT, clutch and drive belt, remove all of the bolts around the perimeter of the case guard on the left side. Two of the black bolts hold on the air cleaner box. Make sure you remove the bolt located in the hole in the center of the cover or it'll never come off. Once you get on there, you can remove three philips head screws that hold on the fan cover to reveal the CVT. Beyond that, you're on your own, brother. I'm confident you will find your noise. Good luck Ernie

I have noticed the little tabs which protrude from under the top of the gas cap that lock it in place in the hole in the filler tube tend to move too far to one side and the closure is not good on the tank filler tube. Has anybody else noticed this or can I possibly have a defective gas cap?
