Yep! Windshield must come off and then the dash top cover. Nothing is easy on these scoots. I had to pull my dash completely out to fix a bad solder joint connected to the left low beam headlight. This required pulling the entire nose off it. The bad solder joint was where the single wire from the High/Low beam switch on the handlebar control split into two wires leading to the two head lights. That solder joint had become a resistor causing high current in the circuit blowing the low beam filament in the bulb. You might want to consider going ahead and cutting out these soldered joints and replace them with automotive compression butt connectors. You'll find the wire leading from the handlebar switches behind the dash. Just follow the wires connected to the headlight bulb connectors to the soldered joints.

Thanks Alleyoop, and n4zou, I have a front running light out, I have the screws loose on the plastic handlebars, but it seems where you put key in, that plastic won't come off, hopefully I don't have to remove the key ignition.

Rich, WHY ARE YOU TAKING the handlebar cover off THERE IS NOTHING UNDER THERE for lights or anything? But If you do want to take it off After you take all the screws off 6 of them, you have to pull out a little and up where the cover fits over the Key part. It sort of snaps under there. Then the whole thing just comes off BUT like I said there is nothing there except wires and the ignition. Alleyoop

I thought I had to take off my front dash area to get to those front running light bulbs? If I don't need to take off that handlebar cover, thats good:) What about if you want to get to your mp3 player?

Do you have an MP3 Player and where is it at? I just installed my RADIO about 3 months ago. Mine did not come with any SOUNDS(HEHE).
Take a picture of where it is at on yours. Alleyoop

Rich, Cool!! So now you know how to take the Cover off the handlebars to get at your MP3 player The last pic I put up I labeled where you have to pull out a little CAUSE it SNAPS under so you Pull it out just a little and up. With the 6 screws off then the whole thing comes off.
As you can see the RED 4 Way Flasher button on mine I installed right in the center of the Handlebar cover. ALso under that cover I have installed a Beeper plus a Relay for the Better connected to my Brakes. That was so If I am making a turn and I am stopped holding the Brake the turn signal is flashing BUT NO BEEPING until I let go of the brake then I make my turn and the beeping reminds me to turn off the Turn Signal. A buddy of mine from Florida came up and bought my Valkyrie and took it home. He said the first thing he did was remove the turn signal beeper. It sounded like the reverse beepers all the old folks down there use. Ernie

Yea, that is why I put a RELAY so the BEEPER only beeps with the brakes off. All you want it for is to remind you to turn the turn signal off. Alleyoop
