Speedracer, thats a greatt idea Something for me to think about, I got into my little front running lights, but to get into the headlights am not sure what I need to take off to get into them, I have the same scoot model (mc-54-250b). Let me know if you like them and how they perform.

Richard, I looked up the date I purchased them on Ebay and it was in August of last year. In the picture they are not on bright, but low beam and you can in the daylight how bright they are. At night I have more light then I ever expected out of a scooter. Had a few cars bright light me. To install them you have to take off the front plastic, which means the windshield as well. There are also two nuts on the bottom of the front end plastic which have to be removed as well. Once it comes loose, be careful as you have to remove the headlight connectors, and running lights just pull out. I took the front plastic in the house so I wouldn't scratch it. On the headlights each one has a metal clip which you need to remove then you can pull out the socket and bulb. Carefully remove them from the package and use a clean paper towel to hold them as you install them. You can't have any fingerprints on them at all or they will not last. Now that I am thinking about it I'm sure you need to pull the connectors on the signal light too. If I missed anything I'm sure JR will correct me.
I'll be glad to take a picture of my lens covers now and show there is no damage to them at all. The plastic is as clean as it was when I purchased the scooter. If you do any night driving these bulbs are great.

Thanks Speedracer, I work part-time and I do ride home at night, so this is something I need to do in the near future.

No problem Richard. They are worth the time and money to put in. I could hardly see with the OEM lights, but now I can travel and do the speed limit and best of all see the road.

I recently replaced my headlight bulbs on my 2008 Roketa 250B & I wished I had purchased these instead of the replacement 35W bulbs. One change that I was glad to make was to replace the "white" small driving light bulbs with the "amber" colored bulbs - You can now see the scooter alot better in the day as well as at night.

I may be wrong but I don't think the electrical system can not handle more than a 35W bulb for very long. If this is still working for you with no problems next year, I'll have to try it, too.

Problems with low charging power generally occur on the 244cc Honda clone scoots. The Yamaha clone scoots have better charging systems and usually do not have a problem handling a little bit more of a load. It still is a good idea to change out all the other bulbs to LED's.

Actually the bulbs are 50w/55w, which is an extra 30 watts. To be honest now there just may be a problem caused by the bulbs. I will know more in a day or so.
The question here is how many watts do you save by changing the brakes lights and running lights to LED lights? All of mine are LED's except the dash lights. Since the running lights in the back are the brake lights the signal lights are not used unless turning. The constant power used are for the headlights and rear brake lights, plus the small running lights. The signal lights are a moot point until used.

The bulbs you will save the most power when replacing with led's are those that are on all the time. Unless you ride the brake's that is not going to help that much. john

Well it is not significant but it is a help. The Tail/Brake light tail light is 5 watt on all time and Brake Light is 10 Watt intermittent. So going to LED would save you 5 Watts X2 saving 10 Watts of full time use bulbs. So yes would be good to change out to LEDs. Since you are with LED you would end up being Less than 1 Watt constant Usage. With the Honda clone any Savings is a Plus.

Has anyone tried the 35w version of that 'xenon' bulb? Curious how it compares to our stock 35w 'overhead projector' bulbs.
Damin - out of curiosity, have you tried beefing up that tiny little red wire (the one that has the fuse in it), that goes to the battery for the charging? I've been considering replacing that wire for something more substantial like a 10-gauge or 12-gauge wire to see if it will allow it to carry more current to the battery. Curious if you've already done that and if you noticed anything.
