CVT cooling

When riding last month in Bryson City with my Peirspeed R9i tug and side car I managed to get stuck on a dirt road and in less than a minute toasted the CVT. We have installed a new unit but I want to know how to improve cooling of CVT. It presently has a 2' tube bringing in air to cool but that is not efficient. I am thinking of removing the hose and making a hardware cloth or screen wire cover to cover the tube entrance to enhance air delivery to the fan. IceBear has a cover with holes but no tube. Comments appreciated.

Aint gonna happen, MC!!!! 8^) Just installed a new clutch yesterday in the tug (got stuck in WNC in some mud and burned it out. ), checked and tightened all mounting and connecting bolts and will test ride it today to be sure toe in is correct. My arthritic bum knee is making 3 wheeling a lot more attractive as time goes on. I use my IB Ruckus clone to get around the place now as walking a lot is not fun. But I am not going to quit riding.

Speaking of rain, we have gone from record breaking heat to a solid week of scattered thunder storms and the prediction calls for more of the same thru next Wednesday. We seem to be having feast or famine here in NGA. It has either been too hot or too wet to ride much. If the rains keep up I may have to sell my scoots and buy a good boat.

An exellent story teller, very good actor, country humor at its funniest and cleanest, and a fine singer. Very few left like him. He will be missed.

Actually the TowPac wheels are simular to training wheels in that the wheels are 1/2 to 1" above the pavement. In GA they still qualify as a scooter or motorcycle.

I considered this unit before I went for the Cozy sidecar. I have an IB 150 'ruckus' trike that I use to get around my place instead of walking, saves my knees. I like the trike for what I use it for but much prefer the Cozy for road travel. I believe that the trike conversion is made in China. My TGB R9 & hack handled the roads in Bryson City with no problems. Not a road rocket but did ok on the hills and I run it at 50-55 on the flats.

In my home we do not forget. My wife, a retired Army Lt. Col., served in the first gulf war, one son is a retired USAF Major, another served 4 years in the Navy, I have a step son who recently retired from the Navy, a grand son in law serving in Korea at the moment, another considering the Air Force as a career, and a step grandson who has just joined the Army. My wifes dad was a career Army non com, and with her grand son now in the Army there have been four generations in her family who have served. Me? I was always too young, too married (with 5 kids) or to old to serve. It is one of the great regrets of my life. We owe all of you far more than we can ever repay. So on Veterans day we can at least give you the respect that you deserve. God bless you all.

98 today, 103 tomorrow, 105 on Saturday and 102 on Sunday. That is predicted temps for Fri., Sat, and Sunday. Here in the NGA mountains that is considered HOT!!!! Mountain Moped has been tuning and servicing my collection of 5. Sold my Tomos Revival the day after her serviced it, my TGB Del 50 is now a hot rod. MRP exhaust, derestricted, compitition carb, GPSed at 47. My Ice Bear 'ruckus' yard trike is running better, Just finished servicing the TGB Del150, new throttle line and carb cleaning. Dont know about you guys but our gas in this area tends to shellac a carb quickly if you let it set up. The TGB R9 and side car will be next, check all connectors and check the differential. And now it is almost too hot to ride!!! We are surrounded by forrest and it is too dry for my liking. Same thing could happen to us, JR.

One last comment. He also operates FlagsGeorgia.com from the same address and seems to be active and well stocked. Hope this is not happening there as well. I agree with TerriLee. Try to always deal with folks you know and who have given you good service.

Tank, I have done business with them in the past, they are only a few miles from me, and never had a problem. This is just one of the guys businesses and he was always straight up in our dealings. His son passed away about 3 years ago and he dropped scooters completely and has been selling off partrs inventory since. I would suspect that his site has been comprimised or someone in the office is double dealing. I am sorry that this happened to you but glad that your bank caught it.

I agree with MC. Fortunately my dealer is small, and a good friend. He keeps me from making bad purchases and does my repairs in return for my careing for his dogs and cat when he needs to travel.

Wel done, Mrs. Ryan, well done. You have a meaningful career ahead of you helping those who need health care. My daughter is a Nurse and has never regretted her career choice.
