Seems there is always some pissing match ot griping at Shoothawg these days just one of the reasons lots of folks aren't there anymore but this mone right here is a real laugher.
Seems like old member Tortoise is just plain fed up with people asking the same things over and over.
It really gets under his skin and here's just one of the links showing so;
scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=50708
And his quote to the thread that one of the only two mods posted;
How about posting a locked sticky at the top of ALL forum categories explaining how to use the Google search box at the bottom of the page?
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
The forum admin could also require approval of new members. A week delay may provide the incentive for them to make a worthwhile research effort, and greatly reduce the number of reposted topics.
You know the funny thing about all of this is I wonder how long did it take Tortoise to learn all of this, how many questions he asked before he became the all of a sudden expert?
But here is what I want to thank him for;
scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=talk&thread=4483&page=1#43892
This is his GY-6 issues thread he puts info on all the time, great resource of information but look at his header;
Before posting a query, make a worthwhile effort to review previous forum contributions . . utilize Google Custom Search at bottom of page. If needed, replace "print" with "display" in the URL for best viewing. For those unwilling to take that initiative, another option is to Google the Scoot Prof Forum . . per admin JR "ask a question that's been asked no telling how many times and myself I'll answer it again".
Just wonder how long it'll be now before that suggestion to go to Professor and ask JR will last now!
Thanks for the advertizing Tortoise!
But in all seriousness member Blueboy5000 needs a pat on the back;
scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=50674
Looks like he stirred up a fuss and that's why the first thread I posted came up, don't want to answer a question that been asked over and over again, then simply move on, no big deal?
Now Bong you need to settle down over there son! LOL
But there was one quote by a member there that stuck out among all the links he posted about dyanbeads;
This isn't the 1950's or 1960's. Years of doing something don't equate to being more advanced or experience - it's why older people have to work for younger managers
I can easily count the number of questions made by that member in his total of 380 posts to present and I assure you they've been asked before, why didn't he just use the search function?
And as far as that statement I can give you lots of reasons why older people work for younger managers and the main one is money. Man get 50ish years old now he's cut because of his pension and replaced with some out of college guy for half the salary and has a piece of paper on the wall. Nothing against a college education have kids with one and more to come but I can show you guys who go into management from college that are lost.
When I retired as a maintenance manager I was replaced with a kid who had been out of college for one year, had all this management training as was going to set the world on fire. All the cut cost training and this and that, you get the picture.
5 months after I retired the company plant manager called me and pleaded with me to come to the plant to help them with a serious problem. I went but wondered why they called me? Seems this ever so smart new manager couldn't figure out why their chiller water was not cold enough after all of these high tech changes he made. His operators did and they sit back and let him cut his own throat because their 20 to 30 years of experience didn't mean anything, he was the man with the piece of paper on the wall right?
When I walked in the refrigeration compressor area and looked at all the setting and flow and asked who did all this the operators all said "the new guy" and they knew me well enough that I would say one thing, where is all the past setting charts?
To the dismay of the new manager I along with 4 of my old operators starting changing and recalculating every compressor and every pump. The chill water I am refering to is the water that goes into a large chiller to cool newly processed chickens and if they are not at a certain temp when packed they will spoil in hours which is what they were having, two shipments were condemned by USDA.
In one hour we lowered the chill water 10 degrees and got back into compliance. The company paid me a years salary to stay and train the college kid for 3 months.
But looks like this issue has really got the old hands stirred up and even old Leo has got into the act;

Someone might tell old Leo in answering the question of where his bearing is, we used to have a old saying;
If it was up your butt you would know!
