>>>to a round box that also has a hose going to the valve cover
Something is wrong with this statement...
One vacuum hose goes to the ACV on the carb this is on the CURB side
A second vacuum hose goes to a petcock (the center nipple) a round silver thing with 3 nipples or to a vacuum fuel pump also round...
BUT...nothing should be going from the round box to the valve cover. If that hose is from either the petcock or the fuel pump it goes to a brass nipple on the STREET side of the carburator, lower down.. the fuel inlet
No hose should be going to the valve cover...
There IS a hose on the valve cover...it is a vent hose and usually goes to the air box...
Need to see how all the hose are connected

Good one... you are a rare breed! 90% of scooter owners haven't a clue about valves...
I was a cook too.. then I became manager of a Hilton Hotel...still love the kitchen
anyhow
So, you have spark and compression and fuel to the carburator?
OK on the intake elbow.. if you have and elbow with two nipples you need to replace it with the same kind ...joining the vacuum lines and hooking to one simply doesn't work very well...
Pull off the hose on the carb that goes to the air filter...maybe the air filter is plugged?
If you have spark, compression, fuel and air the engine MUST run... so you are missing one of these

You need to set the valve gaps... many starting and stalling problems are caused by the valves being too tight... most often the exhaust valve.
Generally I set the intake to .004 inches and the exhaust to .005 inches...

You may have a hairline crack.. I have seen that happen. Your florescent stuff should show you the crack... Often occurs from over tightening bolts, sometime just poor castings, inclusions etc.

Hey John..
It is great to use an impact to take the variator nut off... but don't use it to put it back on.
Here is what happens...
The variator shaft is tapered and the kickstarter gear sits behind it. When you use an impact wrench to drive on the variator nut it moves the kickstarter gear up the taper shaft to a point that you will never get the gear off again. Sometimes it will drive the gear so far up the shaft it cracks the aluminum case...
This also renders the kickstart useless, because the gears won't mesh and sets the variator back pulley out of line with the rear pulley so you get a lot of excessive belt wear...
Save yourself a ton of grief... use a regular wrench on the variator nut to put it on and torque it 25 ft lbs. Check the manuals because I have seen other torques numbers

New Toy!!! I WISH!!! These cost about $15,000+++++! I have it for an avatar because it is a Canadian made scooter with a 998cc Rotax V twin... 0-60 mph 4.5 seconds That isn't a plastic body... it is mostly carbon fibre. I had a chance to ride/drive one recently and it blew me away...it is a lot like a bike, but with the stability of a sports car... But it scared the SH!!!TTTT out of me, I'm not used to passing transports on a 4 lane...but it was a stable as a rock... The transmission is just unbelievable...shiftable semi-automatic...traction control, true ABS brakes... What a ride... en-ca.spyder.brp.com/showroom/all-series.aspxIf I was half my age... I would be looking at one...

A 150cc GY6 engine is called a XX 1 (P) 57 QMJ
The '57' is the size of the piston diameter in millimetres...works out to 149 cubic centimetres or ccs

Those are REALLY NICE seals.. I can understand why you would want 4... perfectly normal ; But if they are as good as I think they are, you may never need them!

Stock seals are 19.8x30x5mm....
Honda part number 91201 - KCW - 880

Linhai is a fairly decent scooter... certainly a cut above the average Chinese efforts

Does look COOL you could probably stick a UNI inside that puppy as well. Do you know what they are using as a filter?
