I would like some feedback on the Puma line of scooters. They have contacted me about being a dealer so I want to know what you all think. I may add their line not sure yet.

I think I may have done things backwards, LOL. I started as a B&M store and as my reputation grew ( thanks to forums ) I branched out to selling online as well.
Now I do things a bit different from a lot of online dealers. I had read a lot of discussions on what people did not like about buying online and their experiences. I do not have a shopping cart, you have to call me to order. I do this for various reasons.
One is that I get to talk to the prospective buyer and answer any and all questions they may have. I can explain to them about the PDI they must do, and also what to do when their scooter arrives BEFORE they sign the delivery paperwork. I make sure they understand that the driver can not leave until they sign the paperwork and not to let the driver push them around. Also, make sure that the driver annotates any damage on the Bill of Lading and signs it.
Another thing I noticed is, most online companies require you to pick 3 colors when you order. I have seen very few that got their first choice. What I do is take the customer's information and call my distributor and make sure what they are after is in stock. If not I get alternatives and then call the customer back with the results and let them decide what they want to do. I have lost a couple sales this way but would rather lose a sale than have an unhappy customer.
Sadly, there are a lot of what I call "bedroom dealers" out there. They sit behind their computer screen and take your money and have a scooter dropped shipped to you. They have never seen the product they sell let alone worked on one. They don't answer emails or phone calls. You can leave messages till you are blue in the face and never receive a call back. If you get lucky and a person answers, most of the time they don't have a clue as to what you are talking about.
To me the biggest thing that helps or kills a business is after the sale support. To many times, people have an issue and the dealer they bought from either doesn't have a clue or doesn't want to take the time to help.
I get at least one call a day from a person who has bought their machine elsewhere and can not get support. I won't list the dealers here because, to me that is a bad business practice. I help them the best I can and go from there. When I call Ice Bear with a warranty request for a machine bought from somewhere else, they ask me who the original dealer was and they keep track of that. That is one way they "weed out" dealers that can give them a bad name. Both Roketa and Ice Bear direct some customers to me that call with issues. They are wholesale distributors and normally do not deal with the general public, that is what they have dealers for. I am glad to help and it does help my business grow.
This thread can go on and on but, I will finish up by saying this: Do your homework before you buy. Check forums, ask questions, check the BBB, and make a phone call and talk to a real person behind the website. You can get a real feel for a place from just a simple call. There are some great online dealers out there but, it seems there are even more bad ones.

Being a Dealer for Roketa and Ice Bear, I find these 2 brands provide good service. I was also a Tank dealer years ago, (they are out of business due to "fingers in the pie") and found them to be a good machine also.
As a repair shop, I see all kinds of different scooters, Yamaha, Honda, Roketa, Tank, IB, Kymco, Tomos, ect. Frankly, they all have the need to be repaired now and then. I don't really see all that much difference except for price. One thing a person has to consider when comparing machines by who has trouble with what, is was a PDI performed before the scooter was placed into service! The Chinese has cornered the market with supplying a product at a good price and drop shipping to the customer, one thing the Japanese do not do. So the customer has to PDI (inspect) the machine. Where, when buying a Japanese (or any other brand) from a Dealer, all the prep work is already done. Yes, ALL machines are PDIed, regardless of brand, from a Dealer. This is where some folks consider Chinese Machines "Junk" because an inspection was never done and it quit working or something broke. Human nature to blame the machine not the owner.
There is a Yamaha Dealer a few miles from me and the Inspection Tech and I are friends. He runs into the same thing of loose bolts, connectors, missing or broken parts the same as I do.
All in all, with all considered, the Chinese make a good reliable machine esp, for the money.

PS: If it has wheels and a motor you are bound to have problems with it sometime.

I do Vehicle titling and registration for Wisconsin. A few years ago, Wisconsin required a VIN verification on all vehicles that came in from out of State to be titled here. This was supposed to stop the registering of stolen vehicles. That process has been stopped here now. I wonder if that is what they are doing there.
You have a legal title for Co so it shouldn't be a big deal except to make sure the VIN on the title matches the bike.

This story really pisses me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is hard enough getting people to donate to homeless vets without adding jerks like this.
He needs to meet a few Vietnam Vets M/C that know his game.
I am sure there are those that he scammed that would love to see him again!
