We had one around here that passed him self off as a vet and was putting out jars to collect money for some veterans relief fund at all the gas stations and quicky marts. I believe he is now a guest of the state. Would hate to be in his shoes if they let him out into a bunch of real vets.

KZ Crud is not the proper word for this idiot. Insulting to the bikers and extemely insulting to vets. It's a good thing he didn't get caught in John and my neck of the woods so to speak by the wrong people. Around here it's like John said real vets would take him fishing! JR

I was going to say something stronger than Crud, but I figured everyone would get my intention. I figured I'd post this around so if anyone was at a Rally and this joker continued his game they'd shut him down. This kind of thing is too miserable for words. Bad enough what some charities pull off for "Administrative Fees", outright thievery is just intolerable.

This story really pisses me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is hard enough getting people to donate to homeless vets without adding jerks like this.
He needs to meet a few Vietnam Vets M/C that know his game.
I am sure there are those that he scammed that would love to see him again!

Truly disgusting. I am sure karma will catch up with this scum. I just don't understand how some people can do something like this? Working for a living is not exactly tough for the majority of people. To do something this reprehensible, all that effort, and to pray on peoples good nature and take money away from those who served this country so valiantly.

I hope he meets a few nice vets in prison. Maybe they can sell him for a pack of smokes. Or maybe a real hardened vet will make sure he never makes his next court date........ To bad the girlfriend was just deported basically getting away.. and free to come back.

It is extremely rare anyone ever knows I am a vet. Sertainly I am not ashamed of being a vet. But I lost to many good friends to be proud I was lucky and survived. That is true of every true vet I know.
cheers

Just imagine how the author of that article felt! Not only made him look so bad but all he supports bad. I've very glad he's done the right thing and let everyone know and doing what he can to make ammends, just shows you he's a stand up guy.
I'm also like Jim this just makes it hard to get help for the vets who truly need help. When I bought my place now almost two years ago now I bought it from a man who married a lady originally from this area, they both were career military retirees and met in Washington and married. She told him she was coming home to Arkansas and even not being from here he agreed to live here.
About a year after they bought this property and set up a house she had a sudden stroke and passed away. He could not bear to stay here and moved back to his home state of Tennessee and put this place up for sale.
The first year here because he was still greiving he asked me if I would check her grave up at the little cemetary just up the road and I gladly told him yes and right before Easter I put some nice flowers on her grave. She was well thought of here and born and raised here.
It took me a spell to locate her grave because I had never been there and while I was looking for it I came upon several graves of vets, some WWI, WWII, Korean and yes some of my fellow Vietnam vets. Seems that this little country cemetary which dates back before the Civil War (yes Civil War Vets too) had so many of that time and generation, all Army and Marines and you could see the dates of the day they passed and know they didn't come back alive, also some that were of that time and war that didn't live out their lives that long even after that time.
The place haunts me, I will never return.
