You can order from alot of online dealers and get decent scooters if you read the reviews, even greenearthscooters.com sells good scooters at low prices. Don't EXPECT ANY after sale support from ANY company you buy from online though. If you get a real warranty, you get it. If they tell you "you have to ship the scooter back" then you don't really have a warranty...

Coke Can gray market engines... but some people have been happy, some have been pizzed-off...there engines were mismarked with the engine CCs
Also if you buy an ENGINE from EBAY MOTORS they are NOT protected by Ebay Buyer protection...
Also they are all DC engines so you will have to swap out your stator and flywheel from an old engine to the new engine if you have a AC CDI...this is a real problem many people experience.
I have no idea about complete scooters, but their track record speaks for itself. Check with EBAY if scooters purchases are protected, I suspect NOT...you would have no way of returning it...

Gotta love dirty ads.
Why don't these guys come out and say
Hi, My name is ______. I work for _____________. Come check out our deals...
Hi, My name is Trent, I work for Blitz Moped in Dallas, TX. We don't sell online, but if you are ever in Dallas, look us up! How hard is that?
Edit. Also if I WERE to try to rouge advertise, I wouldn't make my Screen name my business name, which is tied to my DBA...
Nice catch alley!

It really is very simple. It is not 100% true you get what you pay for. Sometimes you do not. But is is almost 100% true you never get more than you pay for. Every scoot forum as people who will sell you a decent scooter at a fair price. They my not always look like the cheapest but they are in the long range. They first of all will not sell you scoots that have a poor reputation, secondly they will do everything they promise you and thirdly, you can bet your bottom buck they will not mislead you or pretend to give you more than they are (if they say red, it will be red), and I will bet that if you run into problems (and you would be very foolish to think you won't)they and we will try hard to help you. Understand, they are the ones supporting this forum with $$$$.
Be as careful of online dealers who do not have real brick and motor stores and are not actively supporting a scoot forum as you would a street walker who carried a sign saying "I have aids" .
I have no financial or friendship connection any of them, but I promise you if you buy from one of our forum sponsors and have scoot problems near me, I personally will load tools and come to your rescue.

I'm sorry you guys have such issues with online dealers. I bought from GS Motorworks and any parts I needed during the warranty period, and I bought the 1 year warranty, were supplied within a week free of charge. I've heard people bad mouth Green Earth Scooters but any time I called them, especially when Trent was there, they were courteous, polite and always answered the phone and I personally was involved with helping someone get a new engine out of them free, even though the scooter was possibly abused.

I have no financial or friendship connection any of them, but I promise you if you buy from one of our forum sponsors and have scoot problems near me, I personally will load tools and come to your rescue. I cannot speak for the other forums but the vendors here whether they are dealers, parts suppliers, mechanics or all of that do not in any way support this forum with any $$$$$ to me the owner of this forum. Even Proboards forums are free to join and use for anyone. I have vendor banners at the top of the page for two reasons, one giving people that belong to this forum some choices of vendors that have a good reputation of trying their best to treat people fairly and right and two all banner vendors and I have a simple non-money deal of supporting each other. I put the banner they wish to have here in exchange for their support of my banner and forum at their sites. Not one nickle exchanges hands either way. I myself have no desire to try to profit from this forum and just enjoy doing the same thing as you said you would get your tools and go help if you can. I try my best to do that here by giving people answers on their problems and if I don't know I'll try my best to find out or find someone who does know. There are some good dealers out there, B&M and online, the forums are full of people who have went wrong both ways and people who have had success both ways. Having the forums is at least a way to weed through some of the bad experience to try to get a good deal. But the forums are full of people who didn't have any business buying from a online dealer not because of the dealer but for several reasons. Some people can and will never read the old small print and if the scooter doesn't meet their expectations then all of a sudden a simple little thing they can fix and a dealer is willing to glady send a part for becomes a nightmare and the calling the dealer a bad dealer because they are not mechanical or again didn't fully investigate what they were getting into in the first place. Then when they get on the forums they either quickly learn and go forward or the scooter quickly becomes a Craigslist bargain for someone who can and will fix it. The road goes both ways on this and sometimes IMO the dealers don't get a fair shake. This is my opinion and again it's not supported by any deal or dollars from any vendor here. If a vendor does well I'll be the first to stand up and tell you if they don't I can do that too. JR

Especially when you have to be the bad guy because your chinese bosses say no. I was fed up with that crap. Now I am strictly Blitz. In store providing the best service I can, and what is great is that Jay and I designed all of peace sports (dallas) new schemes, graphics, names and colors. Now I get to legitimately retail scooters that I designed myself or had a major hand in. I just needed a job before, but now I am excited to stare my customers in the face and really help them and be involved in the community.

I think I may have done things backwards, LOL. I started as a B&M store and as my reputation grew ( thanks to forums ) I branched out to selling online as well.
Now I do things a bit different from a lot of online dealers. I had read a lot of discussions on what people did not like about buying online and their experiences. I do not have a shopping cart, you have to call me to order. I do this for various reasons.
One is that I get to talk to the prospective buyer and answer any and all questions they may have. I can explain to them about the PDI they must do, and also what to do when their scooter arrives BEFORE they sign the delivery paperwork. I make sure they understand that the driver can not leave until they sign the paperwork and not to let the driver push them around. Also, make sure that the driver annotates any damage on the Bill of Lading and signs it.
Another thing I noticed is, most online companies require you to pick 3 colors when you order. I have seen very few that got their first choice. What I do is take the customer's information and call my distributor and make sure what they are after is in stock. If not I get alternatives and then call the customer back with the results and let them decide what they want to do. I have lost a couple sales this way but would rather lose a sale than have an unhappy customer.
Sadly, there are a lot of what I call "bedroom dealers" out there. They sit behind their computer screen and take your money and have a scooter dropped shipped to you. They have never seen the product they sell let alone worked on one. They don't answer emails or phone calls. You can leave messages till you are blue in the face and never receive a call back. If you get lucky and a person answers, most of the time they don't have a clue as to what you are talking about.
To me the biggest thing that helps or kills a business is after the sale support. To many times, people have an issue and the dealer they bought from either doesn't have a clue or doesn't want to take the time to help.
I get at least one call a day from a person who has bought their machine elsewhere and can not get support. I won't list the dealers here because, to me that is a bad business practice. I help them the best I can and go from there. When I call Ice Bear with a warranty request for a machine bought from somewhere else, they ask me who the original dealer was and they keep track of that. That is one way they "weed out" dealers that can give them a bad name. Both Roketa and Ice Bear direct some customers to me that call with issues. They are wholesale distributors and normally do not deal with the general public, that is what they have dealers for. I am glad to help and it does help my business grow.
This thread can go on and on but, I will finish up by saying this: Do your homework before you buy. Check forums, ask questions, check the BBB, and make a phone call and talk to a real person behind the website. You can get a real feel for a place from just a simple call. There are some great online dealers out there but, it seems there are even more bad ones.
