I don't have one in stock right now to tell you exactly where it is. But, if my memory hasn't completely failed, it should be on the CVT side below the air filter assm.

I am with JR that is my favorite also. I have worked on both designs and from a mechanics point of view I find the Linhai clone to be easy to work on and more reliable. Just my opinion. I am sure there are those out that would disagree.

I can get you new rims from Roketa.
If you are checking on other brands make sure it is for a 54B and not a 54 they are different.

Jim Thanks for an easy to follow guide. On Step-2 you say to connect the black lead to the positive battery post and connect the red lead to the red wire from the rectifier. Shouldn't the black lead go to the negative battery post? Thanks for clarifying. RP It is correct as it is written. Thanks for asking Jim

That's what I thought so it will apply to the 257cc also because the only difference in the engines is the bore. JR The Linhai 300 (275cc) Scoot engines can come with one of two different stators. The standard stator and a high output stator. The standard stator is common on 260 and 275 engines. UTV's and some ATV's come with the high output stator. If assemblers run short of standard stators, magnetos, or engine cases they will ship scooters out with high output stators. High output stators are available for purchase but you can't just swap out a standard stator for a high output stator. You must replace the magneto and right side engine case as well. If you got really lucky and got a Linhai 300 with a high output stator and it goes bad, you must replace it with a high output stator. To make sure you order the proper stator you must measure it. Standard Stator: Yamaha Linhai 260-300cc Stator 18 Coil Found in many 260-300cc Scooters, ATV's and UTV's OD=93mm 3 Pin in 3 Pin Female Jack (all yellow) 2 Pin in 2 Pin Female Jack (1 Blue 1 Yellow) H=26mm Center Hole ID=35mm High output stator: Yamaha, Linhai-Lifan 260cc-300cc Stator 18 Coil This is more common in the Lifan linhai based Scooters, ATV's and UTV's OD=104mm ID=42mm 3 Pin in 3 Pin Female Jack All White or Yellow 3 Pin in 3 Pin Female Jack 1 Green, 1 green w/white stripe, 1 Blue w/White stripe 1 Blue ring terminal (engine side) I'm seriously considering ordering a high output stator, magneto, and right side engine case if my Linhai 300 I am planning on ordering in February comes with a standard output stator (which it most likely will). I must be confused here. What does this have to do with troubleshooting a 3 pahse stator? Jim

Hi Justbuggin2, What Rapid Repair(Jim) put up happened on another scooter forum(ScootDawgs). Don't know why he copied it and put it here. He should have stated up front that the following was from the other forum. The way he put it here looks like it came from this forum but it did not. What ever happened he took it personally and got his dander up. Alleyoop My apologies for not making it clear where the post originated. It was posted on ScootDawg by a person who has seemed to make it his business to run down that forum and basically tell people that this forum and ScootDoc is, in a nut shell, better than them and has all the good people. In other words, it seems like this person has taken it upon himself to be a recruiter for this board and ScootDoc and not in a good way. That thread has been deleted now by the mods at ScootDawg. Alley you are correct, I did take it personally and it really pissed me off. Hence my post. I still stand behind what I wrote especially the part " All this board vrs board crap is getting ridiculous!!!!". As a rule, I am usually thick skinned but, not on this occasion. All boards have great people and some people that we would just like to see go away. There is a lot of knowledge floating around and it is not all in one place. That is the reason that there are folks that are members of various boards. I try my best to make sure that any information, help files, or manufacturer information that I write, makes it to all 3 boards. Again sorry for the confusion. Jim
