Hi. First off, you have a Vog 260, which is identical to the carborated version of the BMS TBX260. Unless its a generic part, I'd plan on getting your parts from BMS directly at .bmsmotorparts.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.bmsmotorparts.com/ I've found that things like the coil that are sold on the net do not fit this bike, nor did the radiator hoses, so I go right to the source for these parts so I know its the right one. As for your problem, I had a long period of no spark, and changed the plug cap and coil to no avail. In the end I found the brown and yellow wire going into the wire clip that clips into the CDI had a poor connection, and I have not had a starting problem in a year and a half since I simply pressed the pin connectors in snugly with a small screwdriver. Its worth a try to see that all the wires are firmly on the pins. -Mike

I feel a lot safer with mine. I bypassed the modulator and just got flashing bulbs. Click the picture for a video.

I just didn't feel like taking the wheel off again, especially since my power is still out because of Sandy (thus no impact wrench) so before I did I filled the tire up to 40 psi and bounced my fat butt up and down on the seat. By the fifth bounce or so I heard a quick fssssss POP!!!! and that was it - tire fully seated. Thanks as always for all the replies.

Thanks guys. Just like I did with my bicycle when i was a kid I guess.
I will say that I was able to get a test drive in on the new tire, and all I'll say is that compared with the Cheng Shin, the Michelin gave a really wonderful ride.

I had new rear tire mounted by a local shop and after sitting a week I see the tire is flat. I'm assuming its a bad seating job (the guy said it took him 40 minutes to get it to hold air) so I thought perhaps I'd over-fill the tire to see if I could let the pressure do the work.
What amount of pressure do you think might actually do damage to the tire? Its a good tire (michelin) and a new valve too. Thanks in advance. -Mike

I recently took off my Vog 260's rear wheel with ease thanks to my new Harbor Freight impact wrench, but I am informed that the safe move is to use a torque wrench to re-tighten the axel nut. I thought I had the specs, but I don't. Any insight into what it should be? I don't see it in my YP250 majesty manual.
thanks in advance.

Bms tbx 260

I have a 2008 Vog 260, the same scoot as the earlier tbx 260. To cbradio i'll mention that I had a lot of spark and stalling problems early on, all of which were ultimately traced to a poor connection of the brown and yellow wire going into the CDI harness plug.

Well, I figured I'd check the carb first before unbuttoning the scoot, and it turns out I was only out about a half turn. I spent a little time tuning and hot or not it started up easily. I'll still do the valves but problem solved. Thanks boys.
