A few things come to mind - on the battery tender jr., they include a wire where you hook two ends on to the battery terminals, and then there is a quick connect on the other end to plug in the quick connect that is on the end of the wire coming off the tender. I was able to put my battery box on over the wire, but you still need to open the seat to connect. You can also put in a cigarette lighter, which is wired to the battery (and you put the box over the wires) and you can cut the quick connector off the end of the battery tender and wire in a plug that can go into the lighter. You won't need to open the seat depending where you put the lighter. Let us know what you end up doing.

speed, after you've installed those lights, I'd take a minute to measure the battery voltage while the scooter is running. From what I understand you want it to be north of 13V or so, otherwise you may not be charging the battery because there is too big a load being drawn from those powerful lights. you don't want to get stuck far from home.

I know my sockets are metal because I've changed my headlights from 35W incandescent to 45W, and then back to 35W when the 45s burned out after only a few weeks!@

I wish I knew the answers. My xingyue has metal sockets, and anecdotally others have not had any lens problems or any problems with the rubber boots.

Welcome aboard Jeepmaster! Glad to hear about someone else who rides in the cold. My record is 17 degrees so far, but I only have the scoot since november. enjoy the forum.

Luckily I had a few dollars laying around for the surgery! Seriously, nice to see so many familiar names already. Looking forward to some good discussions.
