Sorry burrhead I didn't see this, I'm not aware of such a splitter? But one could use the two wire crimp connectors that straddle the wire and not do any splicing. JR

jimbo1710 is your wife's scooter the vertical engine? Is your scooter the Linahi horizontal engine? From your readings I'm saying your scooter is the Linahi? JR

jimbo1710 On the yellow wires how are you doing the reading with your meter? Are you testing them one at a time to ground or from yellow wire to yellow wire? Also is this reading at idle or revved up? JR

They should simply screw out with the proper size allen head wrench. This may help:

A CDI was going to be one of my suggestions if we found nothing wrong with the carb, glad you got it!

dannus This is a new line on me but looks like the typical GY-6 set up and I do see they are Chinese: Two things come to mind first. I'm thinking this is the problem but it could not be so we need to eliminate it, gremlins like this is a process of elimination, find nothing wrong testing one thing then eliminate it off the list. Since you mentioned the fuel thing we need to see if you're getting good fuel flow. Question does it have a fuel pump or is the tank above the carb and it has a gravity flow system with fuel petcock? Looking at the pictures I'm betting tank above the car gravity flow? When you got gas it's possible you got some poor gas with trash and/or water in it and the fuel filter is partially clogged and when the engine demands more full for higher speeds it is starving for fuel. Let it sit a bit and the fuel system fills back up even the carb bowl. Need to look at/change the fuel filter. Secondly if the petcock is not opening good due to a vacuum leak due to a cracked intake manifold or a bad vacuum line the system again will starve for fuel at higher RPM's. Also you need to check the fuel cap and make sure the tank is venting and getting a little air, fuel flow will be interrupted if the tank is not venting and it will create a vacuum that will not let the fuel flow properly. Get back with us after you inspect these tings and if you need help doing just that let us know. JR

hurliman1 Got a stopped up carb or a vacuum leak or both. Also can you post pictures of the manual choke? By manual do you mean with a electric switch of a actual cable type choke? Also need to know your engine? Vertical or horizontal Linhai? JR

chinamaiden I moved your post to the correct place and made a new thread. Ok so we've got to do some testing. Since it will turn over by jumping the solenoid we know the battery is good and since the horn, fuel gauge and blinkers work we know that you are getting power through the key switch. So let's do this simple test to see if the solenoid relay is any good. Unplug it and use some small wire jumpers and put the red/yellow wire to the negative side of the battery and then touch the green/yellow to the positive side of the battery. If the scooter turns over then we've got to start tracing out the gremlin causing this, if it doesn't turn over time to buy a solenoid. Keep us posted and get back with your results. JR

Questions? What belt do you have, the 871 or 856? Also did you put the old rollers in from the old variator? Lastly the variator for the Linhai is a dry type variator, grease over time will make the rollers stick. If you change to sliders grease is a no no too. JR Hello, the belt is 856, and the rollers are New, I do the YP250 manual says, Just that! Then IMO you need a new belt by watching your video. JR

jeffker Good question? I would think anything is possible but one thing I know for sure is you would have to upgrade the stator on the typical GY-6 because fuel injection requires a good amount of power. JR
