Ok since you clearly defined the type scooter you have I'll say cfmoto clone and vertical and a lot of the Chinese scooters don't have a clear defined manual and we can use other ones to work through issues.

On the engine in the non-chinese section you can go to the Honda section and click on the 4 parts of the Helix manual and get a step by step manual on the engine.

On a wiring diagram we have one in this section;

This scooter is a copy of the Honda Reflex and they are four different wiring versions with yours being the top diagram the cfmoto clone version.

Now it's not charging as in how many volts do you read with it idling on the battery terminals? Does it increase if you idle it up at all.

There are several reasons it could not be charging from a bad connection to bad parts but you've got to help us with some information to start? Also is your battery fully charged at 12.5Vdc or better?

Give me a few details and we'll start the process of helping you fix it.

ok here we go i put a new rectifer on it, then put volt meter across batt would get about 13 something , rode it , now not charging again put volt meter across batt again voltage goes down , has new batt

Ok lets go through some basics. You said you put a new one on it charged and now has quit. So the first thing I want to reccomend is going through the connections.

Recently I had a friend with the same situation and after buying a new R/R discovered that just one pin on the 3-plug with the yellow wires was not making good contact. After reworking it to make a good connection all is well, now he has a spare R/R.

This R/R has 6 wires and a 3 phase stator with the following colors;

3 single yellow wires each a AC leg from the stator
red = 12 Vdc to the battrery for charging and lights
Green = ground
black = 12Vdc to ignition which is the regulating wire

The ground wires are critical for a good charge. There will be a black negative battery cable the hooks to the frame and usually there is a green ground wire ther too. You should make sure this is clean of paint and getting a very good ground. Also the engine should have a wire hooked up from the same spot running to the engine, very important the engine is properly grounded.



Now if you look at the wiring diagram you'll see the red wire coming from the R/R and going through a directional diode and the head/tail light circuit ties in right before the diode ands doesn not feed off of the battery. This diode is a check vavle that allows charging voltage from the R/R to go to the battery and will not allow the batery voltage to go back to the R/R.

If the connections on this diode are bad the charging voltage will not reach the battery. If this didode goes bad in the open position then the charging voltage will not make it to the battery until it's replaced. If it goes bad in the closed position then your head/tail lights will stay on all the time.



The above picture is the R/R on this scooter and this blocking diode right besde it. Now you can check all this out and see if it's all the connections are good? I keep saying this because it sounds like this could be the problem?

If you find no problems and it still isn't charging correctly I can tell you how to test other possibilties as well.

checked connectors , checked staror wires, there are 5 main wires three orange and 2 others for pick up coil on the stator connector but on the three orange theres a jumper yellow wire comming from one of the orange wires so when i checked the stator before i took it off i didnt unplug that yellow jump wire which now i know its connected to ground through some circut which may be though the lights but it was showing that the orange wires had connection to ground with that jumper yellow wire pluged in so whats the yellow wire for , im at my wits end pls help me now i got to put a new gasket on the stator cover and maybe the water pump cover and still it wont be fixed, it will not charge

ronscycle1, welcome to our forum. The headlights should come on after your scoot is started. hang in there listen to JR, he know this scoot well, re-check those connections and ground wires

I have a 2008 Jonway yy250t and the headlights do not come on till the motor is actually running. Nothing just by inserting the key and turning it. Get it running to see the headlights come on automatically and they stay on till I shut down. I don't know about 2007 but I don't think they would be that much different.

Slow down a bit Ron. First of all No the headlights should not come on at all until the scooter is running if it is the standard set up but we'll look at all possibilities. You gave a description of your wires on the stator to the R/R and it sounds like your wiring has been alterted? You said orange wires from the stator and they are actually yellow, if they are orange then OK but I've seen them get hot and turn a orangish color.

You also mentioned a jumper wire from one of the yellow wires it should go to the autochoke.

Your wires coming from the engine stator are again;

3 yellows = AC feed to R/R
Green = ground
red/white = CDI pick up coil feed This CDI is DC powered and feeds off of the battery not the stator

On the R/R you will have 6 wires

3 yellows = AC feeds from engine stator
red = 12Vdc feed to battery and head/tail lights
black = ignition sensor wire
green = ground

Now you asked about the diode? As I told you trhe diode is a check valve, it allows charging voltage to pass one way to the battery and keeps the battery voltage from going back to the R/R. If it goes out in the closed position then the lights will be on all the time, not just with the key turned on. If it goes out in the open position the battery will recieve no charge at all.

The head/tail light circuit is tied on between the R/R and the diode on the red wire.

Ron it's possible you got the wrong R/R when you purchased the new one or you've got the wiring crossed?

Now this scooter has a fuse box under the seat if it IS a true YY250T because it is the vertical engine and it is notorious for having problems. You need to open it up and pull it and look at the wiring. You have four 10A fuses and three of them are off of the black ignition wire and are only hot with the key on.

The fourth circuit is the head/tail lights. It should be either yellow on one side and brown on the other or brown and brown. If one of these wires on this circuit has fused with one of the wires on the other circuits the lights will do as you say come on with just the key on? You need to check this out too.

Now ,if you've got a mislabled scooter and the 07 Jonways are ususally vertical engines but it is the linhai then IT HAS NO FUSE BOX. If it is the standard linhai version then it has the DIODE and no the lights will not come on with just the key on.

Also if you look at the 4 versions of this scooter you'll see the third one which I have never seen on a 07 model but there's a first time for everything and it's the 250T version;

The 250T version has NO DIODE and has a on/off headlight switch. Does you scooter have this switch? If the switch is in the ON position yes the lights will come on with just the key on but again I've never seen this version on a 07 it's 08 and up and they are not common and can either be cf moto or linhai.

Now we need to check the stator output and this is done by unplugging the 3-plug from the engine stator with the 3 yellow wires and using your multimeter. This is a 3-phase stator and you check it by checking the voltage between the 3 yellow wires one wire to another not to ground.

Set the meter on AC and check each set of wires to each other at idle and at 5k RPMs and report back your findings. Here is the diagnostics of testing the stator on this scooter and the main thing is all 3 legs need to be equal and putting out 60Vac at 5k RPM.

If you have it off and don't know for sure it's bad then you can only ohm it by the diaganostics on the link I gave you the stator papers. If it ohms out good by those specs I would re-install it and check it for AC ouput again according to the link above.
