HUH!! Most motors have the spark plug on the right side of the head not the left side. Alleyoop OK Mr OOP, I was speaking in reference to the poster apparent confusion. Now I would like to wonder about your comment that all engines have the spark plug on the right side. I have seen small engines with the spark plug in the head and pointing down. I believe the 244cc engine might be in the back but am not sure as I have not checked on my engine yet. I believe that someone had the right idea as they mentioned that I had noted that the engine photo and the scooter views were on opposite sides of the motor. Just my short version of getting to view the engine from the right perspective hoping to help the poster to find the spark plug. Also noted Mr Oop, that you said most spark plugs are on the left side. Maybe so, but that leaves right side, front or back, and top for alternative locations. Just trying to be a help to the momentarily confused one. And not all of the posters have spent their life working on small or large engines. I have done enough to know that all engines have personalities that you learn by working on them. I started by working on a 1937 Packard 8 cyl touring sedan. Now I have graduated all the way down to single cylinder engines over the last 60 years. .

On the photo's showing the spark plug on the 54B horizontal engine, the photo appears to be from the right side of the machine.
The photo of the engine itself appears to be from the left side. .

JR, that sounds a lot like when I was growing up too. My very first job, not counting paper route, paid 0.25 per hour. My first job beyond graduation was about $1.50 on a construction job. My first inside year round job paid $1.00 plus some benefits. My mother never was allowed to work per my dad as she had a primary job of taking care of the 5 kids. Times were a bit closer those days but I think in the big picture a lot better than now with everyone living on credit. Even our government thinks they can live on credit. One day we may all have to pay for all this credit mess too many are now living with. The wife and I do use credit cards for the convenience of use. But each month as the credit card comes in we pay total from our savings or checking. We do not carry any debt beyond that. .

Weren't the Cushmans in the hundreds when new, not in the thousands? I never bought one but did have a Whizzer for a bit over a $100 plus install. I bought used for about $40.
I always wanted a Cushman and some of my high school friends had them 1950 time frame, then one of my friends showed up with a California popular model of scooter the Salsbury. I thought to be a much more sleek design than Cushman. Must not have been very durable as we now see mostly Cushman survivors. .

One very strange thing happened a few years back. Most states had tossed daylight savings time. Back in the 1950's many businesses had optional time for the employees, start earlier if you desired in certain months of the year. Then some jerk in our US Congress decided that all states had to be the same and restarted daylight time for every state with the option to opt out required. So to even out our time keeping when only a few states still honored daylight time this DC Congress made all states to be daylight savings time. Typical DC logic. Now we have a few that have officially tossed day light time.
When my kids were young and going to elementary school it was dark as can be in the morning. I or my wife would drive them to school. At that time the schools were two shifts for teaching. Half in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. It just was not safe for the morning shift children. It would have been bad even without the daylight savings.
Day light time really hurt the drive in movies. Families could not wait for 9 or 10pm before starting a two hour session of movies, cartoons, or what ever.
I say leave the clocks alone, daylight or not, and let people make up their minds just how they wish to live. As someone posted, their father worked as needed and had no concern about what the clock said. .

I am glad I live in a sensible state. I have always hated daylight savings time whether in Ohio, California, Florida, Colorado, and other places I have lived. It seems stupid to have kids finally going to school in morning twilight and suddenly have them go to school in the dark. Why do we need to make daylight last so long in the evening? It is just man meddling with natures ways. Ridiculous activity.
Arizona is one of only a few intelligent states in the US when judging by the time. .

That Harley engine is not a boat anchor. It is really the development of part of an aircraft radial engine.
But I am sure most already knew that. .

Wow, sat through the entire film. Sure brought back some fine memories of my high school, military, and college days. My friend had one of those 50 Chevy cars. They really looked nice. I remember one friend had a convertible like the red one in the film. Amazing bunch of links and actions to open or close the tops.
Sure glad I watched it all. Much of the music was remembered too.
Thanks Alleyoop. .

Never noticed the complaints. Why bother with any that do complain. It should be the forum managers would complain as they must keep the forum inexpensive and fast to be successful. Just plain old users like me have no real reason to complain about different users ways. .

THEN dont try & kiss every ones ass its your site do what you want !!! do what YOU think is best for ur forum... you know what other newer site look like 'cause in the long run, u try and kiss everyone your gonna be typing code for weeks and bugs , bugs , bugs also cant you start and then add, & add?

I have also found the new topics button but probably never use it as I only go to Open Classroom discussion and the 250 Chinese stuff. If you think you are old then you should get rid of your scoot and get a real good walker to help you along. I am 79 and crowding 80 and wish I was as young as you. .

On another forum that I am sure is an update, they have a small flag at the beginning of a new, unread by me post, that is a small box that says NEW. It would be just in front of the thread title. nicetomeet.proboards.com/If not a member then maybe the NEW label won't show. are u a member of rebels? well as of right now, Doug may fix it, there is NO newest threads, like here. i like the newest thread section. that way i dont have to search every section, ie 50cc, 15occ and up section, pics section, all those different sectionsNot at all a member of the Rebels. What do you mean about the Newest Threads and where is this newest thread section. I just cruised through from top to bottom and did not find such a section. I do know that every new comment in a thread gets marked with a NEW box just before the title. You idea of a new threads section sounds interesting but I have not seen it yet. UPDATE: Are you speaking of the NEW TOPICS that is listed above the forum? I guess I have never looked at that before. I only want to look at the 250 Chinese built things. Never needed to look further. Maybe why I never bothered with the NEW TOPICS list. .

I agree that the example of white on black is poor. But I think that is up to the operator of that particular forum. If you take a look at the one I suggested to look at, it is greys and greens with black type. That forum also changes colors by seasons or for special events. .
