agree mauiboy, Attitude and respect have alot to do with both kind of rides. I am sure there will be a time that I will purchase another maxi scoot. But for now it has been donated so that another can enjoy the ride and scoot like I did. There are no harsh feelings here guys by anymeans. Heck I have seen the hill kill cars (cagers ) not just the two wheel rides. I will check in from time to time. Aint riding anything on two wheels right now due to the 7 days straiaght and 12 inches of rain up here . See ya

Well I want to extend a huge thank you for all of you who may have chimed in from here and there. I cant believe I made it to 25,000 miles on my little blu. But I have made the move to the big boys...Shadow 750.. only because the hill is killer on smaller motors. I especially want to thank JR and ol' alley for making this possible. You guys are the best. Showing me the way to work on my own scoot. I may be back some day, but for now I am rolling down and up on the big 750, with all the shifting and stuff. I am forever thanfull for you guys making my journey a bit more fun and acceptable.I really want to extend a great thanks to JR whose advice I took to heart above all the rest. His knowledge is tremendous and needs to be recognized for all he has done and given to this community. May all of you keep the rubber down and be safe out there. many thanx from cptk....

It is correct that I have a few---thousand miles on it. I have been referred to as iron butt before. I will be checking the compression with my standard auto gauge next weekend. Am hoping I can get away with just replacing some gaskets like the right side I know for sure drips a drop when I park it. This is the first time with this machine that it has used a considerable amount prior to each thousand mile oil change. Thank you all for chiming in...and as always I was waiting fo JR's answer..Thanx again

What would be a suitable reading for a 257Linhai after a few/ Several thousand miles....? It is consuming oil in some manor , just not sure??? No smoke involved...just a couple of small leaks... But with only a small amount in the engine to begin with it could be leaking out???Drops here and there, but who knows how much on the road. Bottom line: What would be a suitable reading for this size engine??

Slightly larger I dont personally think would have any effect on motor performance. All it is vacume and air from gas tank, with cotton or whatever to filter it. Cant say I have ever had the one on the bike open, but there is not much to these things. Although I have learned what you dont think will effect the bike sometimes does, and rather stongly.

Hey Ernie, I know alot of these scoots have a destinct smell to them but not of Gas..?...Even after three years mine smells the same when its hot or when I work on it. I am not sure I would purchase a canister yet until you are sure...I mean really sure. Hate to see you spend the money plus shipping and have it still stink. I have done such a thing and the problem has actually been something else. There are only a few things that could give you that strong of a gas smell.. so be sure to eliminate all of the obvious first there guy.

So far with my experiences Any chocking , stalling or kicking issues as far as hill climbing ( and trust I have had plenty ) has always led to not enough air or being to restricted..Have not tried yet to just run carb naked on intake side but have run intake without filter for a run or two and always end up putting filter back on. Roads are plenty dirty and dont need that in the bike..Just my Experience.....

Hey guys, after some research and lots of debate ( what we could afford with reason ) I chose the dragon exhaust syst. I know some of you are not pleased with these but I think it was a good choice for my situation, as well as I got it for a decent price. The larger pipe will disapate heat well and that should make it last. I was very affraid of the noise factor, but after installation it sounds O.K. to me. Not near as loud as I thought it would be. It needs some modification for the 2008 250B but not that much. It sure looks better and sounds better than my broken muffler And as you can see in the next shots it was getting quite hot. and here the first baffle is gone and second one on the way The third baffle is still in good shape. This next shot is me rejetting the carb thanx to The Big Guy's instructions and J.R.'s posting And here is the cheapo can I got from E-bay. Or what is left of it! Not much as you can see. At the time I did not think so, but it is pretty funny ;D. So at last a few pics of the new exhaust on the scoot... And the cool shot intake. My daughter and I had fun putting it on and modifying it to fit the way we wanted it to. The only bummer was I dropped the drill bits on my bench when we were drilling the jet and I drilled it at 55 intead of 56, And this is to phat for the scoot. So I have ordered new jets. These drill bits are so small they are hard to tell apart let alone put back into the index holder. As of now it runs great up to full throttle mode, then it loses a little power. So waiting for new jets. I am hoping that this exhaust will last more than a year or two going up and down the hill. She looks O.K. and sounds O.K. too....See Ya.

I hate to say this Speedracer but at Roketa.com they have the OEM switch with plugs for $40.00. You have to be so darn careful with the E-bay stuff. I had to make toggle switches for lights and rework the turn signal switch so it would work. sometimes it still gives me grief. the exact part number from Roketa.com is MC-54B-250-05-11.

Not too mention uphill my friend. I should find out at what grade the skyway actually is. For why I dont know other than just my curiosity. I did recieve my new parts today and the camera is charging as I speak. I am planning to cut open stock exhaust so you guys can see. Also will take pics of cheapo can from E-bay, as well as new can in box and on bike.....

The truth is I dont really understand either. I am running 91 ( only becuase I want to pay more ) no need to get into that. I am figuring out that it has to be the climb from 200ft. elevation to 2700ft. elevation. It can not really be the ride down other than the fact I am wide open throttle for 16-18 miles. And this is where I think the heat comes into play, on the way home the lil blu has to push my big butt (175lbs.) up hill at full throttle for 17 of the 25miles. Either way that is a lot for this little engine to do. As far as detectible heat, the guage shows very little, other than the norm. 1/2 to alittle above and the fan comes on. The exhaust does not glow red or anything crazy. But the idea is the daily use and heat coming up the hill I believe is killing my exhausts. Again I believe it is a strain on ol blu. So this is why I am chosing to go with a stainless steel exhaust that is not restrictive and allowing the bike to rid itself of the exhaust heat. Talked to nieghbor who had same problem with his ninja. Poor constuction with inners of exhausts. He has actually torn them open and says they are built like? ?. Yea you get the idea.
