Hey J.R. that someone was me last month....And trust me you do not want this problem...It is expensive$$$. $130.00 + shipping $40+ Ouch. So guys here is where I'm at...Bought a cheapo can on E-bay. Yep you get what you pay for. Lasted a week up the hill. Blew out the butt end of it. You want to talk loud Speedracer man you should of heard this thing threw the town of paradise. Whew I am lucky I did not get pulled over. So now I am seriously considering one of the stainless aftermerket exhuast systems. Spendy but heh I have already spent that. Hey Alley if you read this could you shoot me a link of that muffler you bought .. I thought I read something on that a while back.

Some of what matters is where you live and ride. For where I live and ride I use 20-50w regular oil. 20-40w is also good. But unless your area gets cold then you do not need to use 10-30w or 10- 40w. Check out your owners manual. Even though it is written in chinglish you should be able to determine what is best for your riding. Check with Scooter he has a BS in PCSTT. 10-30w or 10-40w is good for -10 to + 40 celsius. 20-50w or 20-40w is good for 5 to 45-50 celsius or 20 degress farienhiet to around 100 degress.

Ya know since we are on the topic of headlights I would like to interject here for a bit if I may....I did not have any burnouts thank god... But do have trouble driving home at night 5 days a week, at least for me.. Thought of several possibilities, first of which was extra lights which burned up my stator eventually, then HID lights which some people have had success with at substantial cost. I took off faring last weekend and adjusted headlights a little further out and am extremely pleased with the adjustments. It did take several attempts with taking on and off the faring. But heh I now have no intention of buying or making further improvements. I can see fine even with no moon or street lights.

Mcalli is correct on this one for sure. The plexi is heated and curved 1) to fit the specific bike and 2) to protect you from wind resistance. Plus there are tabs cut out for mounting, so unless you are very experienced with plexiglass and its ability to bend and cutting it then I would just buy a premade windshield. Also the thickness of the windshield in plexi would be rather hard to bend correctly without a mold or jig...Speaking from experience, not from the windshield but from plexi.

By the way if you have ever had the resevoir off on one of these things you will notice that the outlet from the resevoir is extremely tiny. Not much fluid is going to flow there even if there is suction on it. The hose is plenty big. So anyhow I drilled it out just a tad to allow more flow from res.
I had the same issue a while back, puddle under the bike where it came out the res. after a long ride. Trust me on this there is not much fluid leaving your res. possibly only pressure coming back into it. That is why I changed fluid and did what I did. Not saying ther is not another underlying problem but you might try this first...Its cheap...And it has seemed to help my o'l Blu.

Well after posting last weekend, I thought I would do my oil change and swap out the radiator fluid. So I did my car, the wifes car and then the bike. All went well except for the radiator burping. First of all I had the cheat sheet on the computer so I could run in and read it from time to time ( thanx Proffessor ). Then after round one I let her cool down I think I putzed around the yard and cleaned up. Then round two...she got hot. So I was puzzled. Round three same...By round four I had done what TK did and left the radiator cap off and just let it run. Man you would not belive the air pockets...Being persistent pay off, She finally filled up , mellowed out and now she runs a notch cooler than she ever has. By the way if you have ever had the resevoir off on one of these things you will notice that the outlet from the resevoir is extremely tiny. Not much fluid is going to flow there even if there is suction on it. The hose is plenty big. So anyhow I drilled it out just a tad to allow more flow from res. tank. Next time I will plan to take pics. so you guys can see. I feel bad that I did not, But I dont think of it till it is too late.

Hey john, I have replaced several belts, a stator, Battery, three back tires, two coils, a plug or two, and 20 oil changes...Every thousand miles without a skip. Even replaced a mirror (dont ask why). Added Led's And a Led bar along the trunk. Ooohh did I mention I am on my third stock muffler, and presently looking for an alternative..Now I am looking for a muffler ,Air filter and new main jet...also looking at ways to hook up gas recirculating hose plus oil blowbuy to new Air system. I will find a way and post it .

Also if you said the top of the radiator is hot but not the bottom then possibly check to see if there is flow through the radiator bfore you put it all back together...Just a thought...Especially with all the junk you got out of it. I would hate to hear you did all that and still had issues. Great job by the way. Dont give up.. You can get this, and you will be really glad you did.

First of all thank you guys for chiming in...First off the first one lasted around 6 mos. as well as the 2nd one. But this last one I bought/ 3 mos. Holy crap...At 174.00 ea. thats 348.00 in just mufflers on a 2008 model. O.K. as far as miles I am 150mi from a milestone post of the 20,000 mile club. I use it for my commute of 25mi. each way to work. I know california has some rough roads but heck. I do try to avoid the pot holes. As far as jet fuel...no way too expensive, but if I thought I might get a little more on the top end without tearing up ol' blu I might try it. But seriously without starting the whole fuel grade thing again I LIKE 91 octane...That is just what I like. At least for Blu. I can always tell when the first baffle breaks, the sound changes and you can hear the rattle. But when the second baffle breaks it is really obvious.. It sounds like lawnmower races. You take off the muffler and put a flashlight to it and all you see is pipes and pieces all of which are on the bottom. shake it a little and you get pieces of the baffling fall out. I am really supprised that I am the only one experiencing this especially with the third one. You know the first one I thought O.k. whatever...The second one I thought Hey this is not cool, but the third one - what a minute. The problem I believe is that the way home is almost all up hill. 9 miles of it is at 55mph and one rather steep grade. the rest is still up hill but not so hard. Either way it is pushing rather hard on Blu to get home day after day. She gets warm but not super hot. the fan is on most of the way home. So I am thinking with the exhuast getting so worked each day the material in the muffler just cant take the abuse.

So as of now I have burned through three/ YUP 3 stock muffler's on this beauty. The orig. plus the two that I have purchased from Roketa .com....I think it is time to find an alternative...Anyone have experience with these cheap cans on E-Bay? They look nice and all..And I have seen the exact same ones go for 3 times as much..But what will that do to my scoot???I just can not see spending three hundred dollars all though I have already...If they would just do a little better job these cans would hold up...trials and tribulations of the frustrated....
