I called every towing company in and around reading pa. with triple a my wife is a 'premium" member. their response was it must have at least 4 wheels. i figure i'll tell the wife to bring the old tire that came with the trike. Nope!!! I flagged down a passing roll back will pay you cash. No can do. 4 miles 100$ cash. I'll be purchasing a utility trailer, that will be kept at the house. the place i work at has an account with a rental company, my job is road service/ repairs/ vehicle maintenance. but till i got that trailer back to lowes parking Lott that trike would be gone. it was a loose/loose situation. i opted for plan b and well that didn't work out well for me physically. I have since called allstate (my insurer) motorcycle nope! aaa out of reading, nope! geico. you lizards sell it back it up....Nope!!!! I don't know if it is a stupid PA thing or what!!! So all I can do is go get that utility trailer for 200$ thats been for sale a couple miles from the house. it will cost me maybe 24$ a year for tags. I do burn firewood so it would be useful... pull it with the jeep or company van.

just a good case of "black top fever"on the arms, hands and left knee. I'm a little to sore to tear into it. The motor locked up. But it free floated fine. All my buddies were conveniently to busy to help. So I got the wife to help flat tow it home. Stupid mistake. It took out the windshield and added character to the side. As for me it was a stupid ,stupid way to go it was leave it to be stolen ( which the insurance would not cover) and get the trailer 31 miles away or flat toe it. I called 12 different tow company's. No one will tow a broken down bike. They might damage it. I'm seriously thinking about a part time company towing only bikes.. All over the city of reading not a single one would tow a broke down bike. Accident no problem, dui no problem A cash paying customer NOPE!!!

Welcome, there is a lot of knowledge here. Many of the problems you may face it is likely that some one has been through it. Paul

Had the cyclone out yesterday, Went to run an errand. When I tried to start the motor it made a strange sound, than nothing. I pulled the plug and the gap was closed. With out the plug i still could not turn over the engine. Towed it home was about 3/4 mile from the house the tow rope became entangled ( was doing 10-12 mph)and I rolled the cyclone. Just a little case of road rash, had it before i'll accept the fact that it will happen again. It would appear to me at this point i'll be needing new motor. It is locked up tight. It rolled home easily though. will also have to invest in a trailer. I have no clue what happened to the motor. I won't be riding any time soon as the wife & kids saw it all happen. Oh well that just the way things happen. I'll have to way the options new motor ( if that is the case) or new scoot..... Don't have the money for either now but what an adventure. Told the wife this is just another way the good lord humbles you. She was up half the night what if? What if? I told her make sure i bleed out than call emergency services, that's why we carry insurance policy's for. Hell new house, cash, new guy start over.. She did not see the humor or contingency plan in it... You would think after 28 years she know me by now.... now in a couple of days i'll be able to start the tear down. Just so you all understand I am not very caviler about life. But as we all know we only get so many heart beats. I was never a big risk taker but I do believe life is for the living, yes I do have a very understanding wife she's a northern girl (red lake Minnesota), objway love her alot. Thought's or suggestion's (for the cyclone)..... Paul

They are a truly neat ride. I have had the larger bikes, engines.horsepower. But as time ages me, it seems it is not just the destination it is the journey. I really don't mind all the nickel and dime having to look over the trike stuff, its just what I do its always enlightening. Plus you have so many knowledgeable people on this site. Sometimes after a 30 or 40 minute quick ride it just seems to put everything in perspective. You really have to pay attention, here in Pa there are a lot oh hills. As well as impatient drivers. Most of the time if I know it will be a long pull up a steep grade I'll pull over and let those in a hurry to go past. I may have a place to go or important to be but I will enjoy every minute on the trike. I work fleet maintenance on a company that transports insurance / worker comp patients. so access to tools and lifts is diffidently not a problem. I seem to always be tethered to this job. So the cyclone enjoyment is just that much more. I spend a lot of times with neighbors and family / friends working there auto troubles too. If you love what you do It ain't work.

that what was in the motor when i got the trike from my sister. i just have better range with an 808 champ. auto lite was best performance wise but ridiculous to start even after it warmed up. ngk would sometimes just die out at intersections. you figure do a little PM to save a breakdown. but sometimes.... the original purchaser did some really screwy things with wiring and connectors. 9 months later i'm still finding odd connections. I don't think the original owner thought the whole thing threw. so far i have removed 12 feet of wire different ,connectors different gauge wire connected in the same run.wire nuts uncrimped connections. I do believe that i do have a bad or faulty coil though. one thing at time. take it start to finish. i'l be comming up on 3000 miles though. Absolutly love the machine, look forward to the future challenges. its never left me walk yet. longest ride to date was 87 miles. usually just around town. 40 - 60 miles a week.

was that the same brand installed Pryor to problem? I had read or seen a theory or report or some survey on small engine (under 25 hp) using different style , type plugs. Like i said earlier my cyclone will only run on champion. I originally had NGK it bogged down to much switched to ac delco, than had other issues so i replaced lines / hoses /filter/plug this time it was an autolite plug. Absolutely miserable to start had to pull the battery 2 x's slow charge charge went back to champion 808,problem went away. I had practically the entire motor off the trike looking for breaks cracks broken connectors air / fuel leeks . Did absolutely nothing different as far as repairs put it back to getter put in new plug it has run flawlessly since, 175 miles ago. Wish you luck, I will stay interested in the final outcome. Paul

[replyingto=oldputz]oldputz[/replyingto]replaced mine with an electric air horn (bad boy) Man is that loud. You'd never expect from this little ol trike. It give out the same burst as a trumpet style air horn. Everything is all compact in one unit mounted it on the upper side of front storage compartment under the front cowl/faring....Still get no respect form drivers pulling out in front of me... But the horn is still fun to use.

[replyingto=martyneilan]martyneilan[/replyingto]I was having a similar problem with my ice bear cyclone (157qmj) I replaced the plug with a new champion and problem is gone. The problem started after fuel, vacuum lines, fuel filter , plug changed. my trike will run stronger on autolite but hell to get started.

****** UPDATE******* Problem solved. I do not know where I read an article or reply about using only champion spark plugs.I Researched every where for vacuum hose, fuel line schematics / routing, basic theory etc. I checked every line, fitting every attachment point. Looking for the obvious. When I changed the fuel filter and fuel lines I also changed the spark plug( advance did not have any in champion only auto lite, that's why I prefer Auto zone but autozone was extremely busy). I replaced a champion with a autolite via the cross reference chart. My ride will only use champion plugs. It was extremely frustrating yet all the time It was as simple as the plug. the trike was getting spark just not the right stuff, Its always seem to be the simple stuff. Put about 60 miles on her tonight and she is good to go. I need to return the other plug and put two in the trunk for spares..... Thank you tvnacman for the info.. Paul

Vacuum hose / fuel hose routing 2012 ice bear cyclone (157Qmj) Is there any one who could point me in that direction? I am having a hard time getting the engine to run at cold or warm start. I have to crank on the starter a while or a few times to get the engine running. When it starts it runs fine. Shut it down again hard to start will sometime back fire then start up(Warm). Installed new plug (.035), valves are set at .003. At times I smell fuel other times nothing. I figure start with the basics, air, vacuum, fuel, spark. the problem recently started after changing a dirty fuel filter as well as a couple leaking dry rotted fuel lines. (Tank to the filter to the petcock lines replaced.) thanks Paul

How often (other than the obvious) should the fuel filter be changed. I have about 2500 + miles on my cyclone. Any help would be appreciated. Paul

Alley, Where did you get that radio? Been looking on line. The one installed on my trike draws two much power. Its actually a, in dash mount car radio/ CD player. It is in the left hand side of the upper storage box. Its a major PIA to turn on and impossible to use while riding, with the storage lid hinging down,to access it... It is wired to a power switch on the front dash, when the battery gets to 3 bars I have to kill power or I'll stall. There is no restarting radio ,changing stations or volume the radio while riding. Paul
