Hi, Did anyone ever get this resolved? I have the same problem on a 2012 TBX 260? They don’t make the scoot anymore, so the new people at BMS don’t have much knowledge with this scoot. I’m desperate to find a solution. I'd appreciate any help that you guys can offer.
Thanks,
Pam

Hi,
Did you ever get this resolved? I'm having a similar problem that is driving me crazy. But It's also my tail lights that don't work. My brake lights work though. I would appreciate any advice that you can provide.
Thanks,
Pam

Thanks for the advice. This is what I have now. How many amps should I look for?

HI Jon,
I was wondering if you ever got your starting issue resolved. I am now having the same issue. Last year I replaced the regulator, the lights were never brighter and it seemed to work, but it was at the end of the season, so I didn't get to ride very much. I had it on the battery tender all winter and it started fine. The problem is, is starts once and then it won't start after that unless I put it back on the tender.
The battery starts at 12.9 volts when I remove it from the tender. I start the bike, then test the battery with the volt meter attached and the voltage drops to 12.6. I roll on the throttle and the voltage goes up to 14. So everything looks good. Then I turn the bike off and the battery has dropped to 11.6 and won't start.
I took it to Auto zone and Advanced Auto. They said they can do a regular test, but not a load test. When they test it, they said the battery looks good.
A friend suggested that it could be the starter, but I don't think it is, because of the battery dropping when I turn the bike off. Any thoughts???
Thanks for any suggestions...

Did you check the brake cable? If it's not detecting you holding the brake in when you try to start it, it may not start. Also, the safety switch under the kickstand could give you an intermittent problem with starting.

I had a similar problem. The seat would not latch at times. The latch would close but it would not hold the seat down. I got some wd40 and sprayed on the latch. Now it locks and unlocks fine.

OK, I finally got it out which was a feat in itself. The imprint says Philips Duplo 12v 25/25. Not realizing it was only 25w. Prior to getting the bulb out, I bought a 35w Eiko 6235b. Do you think it would cause a problem to replace both sides with the 10 watts more? Thanks for your help.

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone knew the sizes/watts of bulbs for this scooter. Also, if they are available at local auto stores or anywhere else online other than BMS.
Thanks,

Hi,
Call 626-810-8877 Ext.120 ask for Austin. You can also email him at techsupport@bmsmotor.com. I'm sure he can answer your questions about the fuses. I usually called after 6:00 p.m. EST. Someone usually answers. He was very helpful with a few recent questions I had. He actually called me to discuss the problem, then the next day he even emailed pics of how to take off and replace the tire rim. I was very happy with his help. Another person that helped me out was Kyle. Let us know how you make out.

Well, I got my new regulator and all seems good so far. It was too late and dark last night when we got it installed to do anymore testing. But as soon as I started up the scoot my lights worked and were brighter than ever and no longer flickered. There was no dimming of lights when I squeezed the brake handle which was the sure test for me. Before they would go so dim, you would not even know they were on before the new regulator. I will pick up a new multimeter tonight for the final test. But I think it's safe to say oregonmotorcycleparts.com saved the riding season for me. Here are my lights with the new regulator.

Hi Scotty, I haven't had to change any yet, so I can't tell you the exact location, but here's a copy of my wiring diagram from the user manual. It shows a few fuses. Hope this helps.

I'm working with Oregon motorcycles to get one. The first one was not correct, but he promised to work with me to get it right. So I sent him my old one, so that he could see exactly what I needed. If he gets the one that I need, I'll let you know.

Ellpee and Bobf, I've taken your advice. I've contacted Oregon motorcycle parts and received a reply from Tony. He is experienced with that model and thinks that he may be able to help me out. I will keep you posted.
