This is my scooter also. Check to make sure the wires going to the coil are OK. If you still have the air tube pressing on the spark plug boot, you need to check the boot out. The connector for the main hot wire from the battery to the ignition switch needs to be checked out. The inside of mine was green (corrosion). I ended up soldering the wires direct. You will have to take the front covers off. And while your up there you should check the other connectors as well. One at a time. You will want to make sure the front ground is OK also. There is a bolt on the frame,
Good luck with your journey.

When you took the carb apart. Did you take the diaphragm, spring, spring holder and needle out.
I believe the order should be. Diaphragm, needle, spring holder, spring and then the top.
When I first got my scooter, I made this mistake. I put in the diaphragm, spring holder, needle, then spring And the engine still ran and I was able to drive the scooter around. Just super rich and not able to adjust the idle mixture screw.
I hope this can help.

How does your spark look? I has to be blue. My engine ran great in the garage with the white, orange spark but seemed just like yours on the street. Had some bad wireing connectors.
I went through replacing all that stuff too. Now I got spares.

Thanks Speedracer, I just hope I didn,t do any damage to the engine.
Mostly (all) my own fault for not reading the manual well enough and making some sort of maintence inspection sheet. But I "know it all already", Kick me in the ....
Thanks for the quick help.

Just a little info on the name game.
I have a 2008 Roketa MC-62-250, Which has the same engine. My user manual refers to it as the XY260T-4. JR sent me a wireing diagram for the VOG 206 and it was the same as mine.
I just got a new carb for mine and the packing list refered to it as a 260 carb.
Sometimes the same engine and etc. are use on different scooters with a little different name. Its just a little confusing at first
Happy and safe travels

Roketa Mc-62, (AKA XY260T-4) Has 257cc engine
The small manual I received with the scooter says to use 1.6L oil for the crankcase. The little sticker on the side of the engine says to use 0.9 L. I lost my filler cap and was able to get one from a 250 Jonway, which fits the hole but the stick is to long. I can work with that.. I can't with the different fluid recommendations.
How much oil goes in the engine.
Thanks

The scoot is called a 250, Its got a 257cc engine, and ya get parts calling it a 260. I say this as a joke.
Thanks

I left the electrical connectors "as is". I had to switch the bracket that holds the throttle cable and left the small idle adjustment screw in place of the 8" flex. For me, its just one less thing hanging around the engine.
I don't think its ever run this smooth.
Thanks everyone for your input.

The carb for the Engine 2153 is the one I have on my scooter. The one GMI sent me is a Keihin and not the clone carb. My thought is maybe the OEM was "out of stock" and they sub'ed this one. It is suppose to be the top of the line, right? I'll hook it up tomorrow an see what happens.
Thanks

The enricher is at the top of the carb, this is at the bottom.
My only thought is that this might be some type of safety-solenoid, it's more then just a ground. and we all have to know it's not some kind of heating element.
I will be calling GMI Parts on Monday to see if they know whats up.
Why do suppliers sell parts without install instructions.

I have a 2008 Roketa MC-62-250
I just received a new carburetor and there is an electrical connector on the bottom front.
The throttle side has the Keihin name inprinted on it. (I didn't expact that) and on the enricher side CVK.
Part of the connector is a male blade and the other is a round stud similar to the temp sender on top of the engine.
Thanks for any help.

I purchased a 10-amp from Battery Plus. It fits in the battery slot but the cover isn't big enough to completely cover the battery. Thats ok. Thats why they call it customizing.

I have a Roketa MC-62, with the 257cc engine.
The current battery is only 7-Amps and I would really like to upgrade to a 9-10 Amp. My understanding is the more amps the stronger the battery, better (longer) cranking if there is a problem and possible better running because of the DC CDI ignition set up.
I am aware of the size issue and the possible need to mod the battery area etc.
Thanks for and suggestions.
Looking at Advance Auto and Battery Plus now.

Jim Thanks for an easy to follow guide. On Step-2 you say to connect the black lead to the positive battery post and connect the red lead to the red wire from the rectifier. Shouldn't the black lead go to the negative battery post? Thanks for clarifying.
