I think this will be the last report on the "diode deal". Both diodes were wired into the same harness. As are the relays I replaced them with. I took one of the relays out and the scooter runs just fine. So I have a spare 30-amp relay. My goal for this winter is to clean up the wireing harness and replace most of the connectors with the "trailer type" connectors. Thanks JR and everyone for your imputs.

This is the exact same wireing diagram as mine. I will be checking the starter aspect this weekend. (Scooter is at my daughters house). My thought is that a second diode was put on by mistake or because it's a univeral harness and they had to fill in the gap.
I'll be getting back this weekeng. Thanks

I have the Roketa MC-62 . The operators manual says XY260T-4. I have seen it refered to as both a 250 and a 260.(the precise number is 257) It is the Linhai clone. Manufactured by Xinguye. (L4S) The wireing diagram in the manual has been right on with the exception of the two diodes and some wires going to an oil pump. Thanks for taking a closer look.

My first attempt to get a photo is a bust. But here's the story: The two r/bn wires from my relays (diodes) join a third r/bn wire from the rectifier and a single r/bn wire then goes to the fuse block, where it comes out as a brown wire for some lighting. And I'm asking myself the same question. Why would I need two diodes to go to a single fuse? I will be disconnecting one and see if I still get the blue spark, and clean up the spaghetti bowl of wires. Rolling on.

Bad coil?

I have a Roketa MC-62 (2008) and the main hot wire from the battery to the ignition switch was a little corroded on the battery side of the ingition connector and the wire going to the ignition switch was blackish for about 2-inchs. I bypassed the connector and soldered the wire. I bought an new CDI and coil before I found the problem was in my wireing. Just trying to shed some additional light.

Replaced both of the diodes with relays from O,Rileys. Bought 2-30AMP 4-pin relays, p/n 8640. They are from Dorman and are on the rack by the electrical connectors etc.
I used the black wire from the ignition (as suggested) The tabs on the relay were labled with almost the same numbers (1 might have been different) Bottom line, it was a pretty quick fix and I would recomend it to anyone just on the issue of not having a hot wire hooked up 24-7 like the diode was.
Scooter is running again. Starts right up. But has a tiny blueish purple spark.
Keeping on looking.

Did not disconnect my battery when checking some wires and now scooter will not crank. Got horn and fuel pump runs. I have two diodes, one is rectangle and smooth the other is rounded out. From what I understand these are the diodes that connect (at least one) to the kill switch. My diodes have two prongs coming out of them. For replacing these with a relay the tutorial shows a 4-prong relay. I do not want to second guess how that works. I've checked several suppliers and came up empty on new diodes. Roketa.com and I do not get along.
Thanks in advance

Has anyone taken the wires out of the connector for the CDI? I've been trying to pop the coil wire out with a small screwdriver with no luck.
Thanks.

I've already posted on some issues I've had with my MC-62 and its great to know theirs guys like JR & Company to help smooth out the bumps. I'm working on getting the picture thing going. But like any DIY thing. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. But that first time? ?.

I've been going through a Spark Issue with my MC-62 and not getting a blue spark can lead you to believe your having other problems. If you have a blue spark, and your valves are adjusted properly and you have a new carb. That eliminates alot of stuff. Is there something collasped in the muffler? (That happened to a friends car) Is something binding up in one of the wheels? Take both bikes out for a spin and check the axel areas to see how hot they compare to eachother.
Just trying to throw something out there for you.
