Hi alleyoop, going to buy new belt soon, just thought while I have it off I'd change out those old clutch springs, still being engaded(surging forward) at stops RPM'S 1700. Idle is good now and noticed the other day when adjusted a/f 1/4 turn leaner I didn't complete the full turn, re-adjusted and running good now, every once in awhile at high speeds I get a slight jerk.

Richard with 13k on the belt it's time to put that belt on the shelf for a quick have to replacement should you have a belt break. I'm sure to say she's worn out.
Barnie I've tried so many different lengths, widths and such that it all boils down to what you prefer and where you ride IMO. I've put longer belts on, enjoyed the little top end gain and then went for long rides in the hills and was wishing for the shorter belt to climb better.
Example, my wife and I have identical 250's hers the 250A and mine the 250B, again identical just different labels. She has the standard OEM size tires at 130/60/13 and I use a larger size front and back on mine.
I run 12g sliders in both and both have the 856 belt. On even or relatively flat terrain even with my extra body weight I can pull away from her slightly just because of the tires, but put us in the hills just a short distance from here and her 250A will out pull me slightly.
But it would be easy to fine tune them both the same even with different tires. I could probably drop to 11g sliders and stay even on the pull but it probably would drop me back a tad and even us out on flat ground top end? I probably could put the longer belt on hers and get her even on top end and pulling to mine. It really doesn't take much to see a change.

JR, I'm still getting even at 1700RPM'S my clutch being engaged at idle and stops, I was thinking about replacing the clutch pad springs or should I wait and clean clutch and re-grease and new belt first

If your clutch is engaging at 1700 rpms you need new springs they are to weak and are being thrown out at a TO LOW OF RPMS. You may want to put in 1000 rated springs that will require a little higher rpms before they engage. 1000 rated springs should engage little over 2000 rpms which is good. Alleyoop

Gonna agree with Alley on this one, I set the idle on my 250B at a minimum for 1900 rpm so you may want to evaluate the clutch and see if it's easier to find springs or just buy a new clutch?

JR, I concur with you on how the little changes can show big results. I have experimented as you have with different slider wghts and belts etc and it seems as tho I end up putting all the stock sizes back on to stay with the performance I had when this was new. I am still running the 856 belt and 14gram wghts. I've tried others but this is where mine runs at peak. Like you said no 2 are going to run the same. My son has a Burman 400 and a couple of friends do to and I can stay right with them under normal riding conditions, so I figured I best leave it alone several years ago. The only changes I have ended up leaving alone is I did install elec fuel pump and a 130/70/13 rear tire and a no 40 pilot jet in place of the 38 stock, that did help out on bottom 1/2 of throttle. I'm a retired senior citizen and this scoot is my biggest hobby. All things considered for what they cost I think the Chinese did a pretty damn good job. If I could I would ride a Burgman to but then we all know why we ride these. I am very happy with this JCL and it appears to me most on these forums enjoy theirs to. Barnie

I know I've priced the clutch for my scoot and your looking around $175.00, I did replace the main torque spring not too long ago. Where do I get these 1000rpm's springs for the clutch?

Richard, I also used to have a Roketa mc54b-150 which is identical in every way except it had a gy6 engine. The clutch looked the same as the 250 i have. It may be possible that the springs in that clutch will fit the 250. Parts for scooters at 1-866-478-8700 has a wide variety of spring sizes. It might be worth a call to them and have them measure on of their 1000rpm springs and campare to yours. I used to get parts from them for my 150 and they are good. The springs are like 9.99 for set of 3 . A phone call is worth a try, you might luck out. .partsforscooters.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.partsforscooters.com 1-866-478-8700. Barnie
