Harbor Freight offers one that runs $300.00 when you can catch it on special sales. Can usually get a discount coupon from their online store or from their ads in motorcycle magazines. It will raise your bike up apx. 30", is well built, and my friend at Mountain Moped has one. A real back saver. It is on my got to get list.

I have always used 87 octane, treated with Sta Bil with good results. My friend at Mountain Moped has found a dealer who sells straight non ethanol gas and he is trying it in his scoots with very good results he says. Better gas milage, more engine pep. I have not tried it yet.

A friend of mine has found a source for regular gas, no ethanol. Says his scoots run smoother and faster using it. Don't know yet what it does for mileage but may give it as tr y.

Sadly, Ellpee, you are right. This seems to be an ongoing, time wasting problem and I think the moderator needs to take some steps to put a stop to it. Visitors seeing this going on will not be interested in become members, IMHO. I have respect for both parties and would suggest that they make peace for the benefit of the forum. Nuff said.

I use Sta-Bil and have used Sea Foam, both are good. I do what Ally Oop does, and it is always in my fuel tank. In cold weather I take my scoots out of the garage and run them for a few minutes. Also keep battery tenders on them year round.

Sidecar

I have a scooter sidecar rig. I am running a TGB R9 151cc scoot as the tug and a Cozy Bullet sidecar. Had to do some modifying to get it set up but it works. You will see Genuine Stella scooters hooked up to the same hack as well as some Vespa models. If the unit is not adjusted correctly for lean you will have excessive tire wear on the rear wheel pf the tug and the hack.

This one runs great, needs a through clean up. Parts are readily available. First thing up is reupholstering the seat and polishing the metal parts. Has new tires. My riding pal who owns Mountain Moped checked it out with me and can handle issues that I cant. Should keep me out of trouble all winter!!!

Took the plunge yesterday and bought a 1978 Honda CB400A motorcycle!!! 7800 actual miles, excellent mechanical condition, some restoration work to be done. It has a HondaMatic transmission. My plan is to make it my winter project and ultimately hook it up to my Cozy sidecar. Not leaving the scooter world, just going for a stronger tug for the hack.

Agreed. Next week I am riding with a friend up to Ellajay and back, nice little 70 mile ride. And tomorrow I am getting an antique 1978 Honda CB 400 A motorcycle to hook to my side car. Life and riding is good!! And we are enjoying perfect NGA Fall weather.

I buy regular in 5 gallon containers and treat it with Stabil. Seafoam is good also I always have a gallon in the tank top, saves me having to buy a gallon at the noservice stations.

Skyrider sums it up quite correctly. The American society is in free fall and at this rate will not survive much longer unless we return to the old values. Wolfhound AKA Trick Dacy
