When I first read this, it made me sick to my stomach. Over the course of the day more and more details have surfaced including the fact that there is still another person at large that was involved. news.msn.com/crime-justice/teen-arrested-in-fatal-beating-of-wwii-vetI just can't imagine what goes through someone's mind that could do something like this to any person let alone a WWI Vet who was harmless and defenseless? Even worse they are minors and did this to a man who fought for their freedom and rights long before they were even born. Rest in Peace

As a nation we are reaping what we have sown. We removed the Bible from schools, the 10 commandments from public places and approved every sort of perversion and evil. "Woe unto you when you call good evil and evil good."

Skyrider sums it up quite correctly. The American society is in free fall and at this rate will not survive much longer unless we return to the old values. Wolfhound AKA Trick Dacy

I agree...I am a Vietnam era veteran (1967-1971) and proud of it. This country is worth fighting for and restoring the values we where raised with.

It saddens me, and all the more so because I see little indication it can be turned around. To far too many of the more recent generations, duty, honor, integrity, one's solemn oath, seem to mean little or nothing. Whatever is good for me, is good, and to hell with the other guy. I had enormous freedom and a great childhood, even without today's gadgets, but I grew up with clear, definite boundaries; I passed on to my kids as much of that as I could. Today's kids grow up on a nanny leash, protected from everything, but at the same time they have no sense that the world exists for anyone but them. Those are gross over-generalizations, of course, but on the whole they are shaping today's world, and not for the better.
