JR's most famous words "Don't forgive, don't forget and do onto others before they do onto you" I will never forget the night when a friend and I as young boys crashed the car into a lamp post bringing down a heavy transformer mounted on top of the two parallel wooden poles and thereby causing a massive power outage right on time when "Dallas" was been aired. We were not very popular in the small seaside community. As terrilee so rightly put it, that was a long long time ago.

Oops sorry I suppose madcollie is right in that somewhere I did read that no politics and religion should be discussed on the forum as it is purely for scooter matters. My intention was simply that the reader test his/her political sentiments privately by taking the quiz. The intention was certainly not to unchain a political discussion so if I in the process stepped on some toes, please accept my apologies. I declare this topic closed.

Hi guys as you know I am from South Africa and will very possibly immigrate to the US in about two years. As a result I take a keen interest in your country. In fact I am reading a very thick university prescribed book on the American history. Now i think I lean towards been a republican but just to make sure i was sent this website address where you can check if you are a Rep, Demo, Green party or Libertarian. It is very interesting to take the quiz and I won't believe my final score because I am not familiar with things such as gay marriages, gun control or medicare in your country. But try it anyway. The website is .isidewith.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.isidewith.com

Ever wondered what a safe temp is for your engine oil. Oil has an operating window. I measured my Jonway's oil temp by sticking a thermometer into the engine oil. This was after a 30 miles trip. I did it as soon as I stopped and was greeted by a highish 192f. I wrote to Castrol SA about this. Now the oil in question is Castrol Magnatec Professional. It is a 10w30 full synthetic oil. Not sure if it is available in the US.
I was told that the max temp one should expose this oil to is a very high 230f. I was happy with my 192f. I very much doubt if mineral oil can withstand this high temp.

Very interesting. My brother owns a light aircraft, RV9, and a while ago he also visited the US and a friend of his flew him over NY. In fact they followed the trajectory of those planes of 9/11 heading for the new tower and back home he showed me the flight which he recorded. Very eerie to say the least. Flying over Central Park was awesome he told me.

Volt meter black wire into COM port and red wire into VMA (center) port. Turn dial to DCV 20. If engine is off you can check the battery strength by touching the red wire to the positive end of the battery + (red cover) and black to the negative - end of the battery. Hopefully the meter will read somewhere close to 13 volts, not less than 12.4 +-. If the engine is running you can do this identical test to see the condition of the charging rate of the charging system and you should see a reading of somewhere to the better side of 13v and if you ref the engine up this reading should climb to over 14v. Hope this helps. This site offers many technical advice and pretty soon the boffins will also reply to your post. Remember to place the scoot on the center stand when you ref it up.

The one big draw back is that fuel tank in front of the fan. I am pretty sure if we can swap them around the fan will work much less. I am surprised (to my knowledge) that nobody has attempted and published such a swap around.
Many thanx for the input JR, Cruiser and John

John, headlights no fan I read 13.85. JR remember this wiring of my Jonway runs off from the battery as I can have full lights on without engine running

Is my scoot charging ok with the following readings: Idle 14.49 volts cruise speed with fan on 13.30 v cruise speed with fan on as well as headlights 12.26 v.
If this is not really good what suggestions to make it better. I would like to see at least something over 14 with fan and lights on, is it possible?
Something I noticed is that the 14.49 at idle drops to 14.48 when I ref it up to about 4000rpm

Can someone please tell me which type of gas in the US contains ethanol and which is ethanol free. My daughter lives there and whilst she drives a little Ford Focus I am wondering if this additive is not choking the little Ford up as it does with scooters.

gas prices

We in South Africa, where the gas price is regulated, are paying R11 (rands) per liter at the moment. That is R49.50 per gallon which is about $5.89 per gallon. We may have lots of gold and diamonds but sadly no dino juice except for some off shore natural gas.
