just watching Smokey and the Bandit that came out in 77 and saw gas was only 47 cents back then man how times have changed

Wonder what is going to happen with the nations corn crop drying up and the drought and all. Them fools that shoved the ethanol down our throats and raised the price of food will have some thoughts on that to appease us surely.

Gas prices here have gone back up from $3.15 to $3.40 ( Ihate the 9/10 of a cent so I round it off to the next figure) in the last 3 weeks.

Mileage was the main reason I went with a scoot over a motorcycle.....that & maybe I'm a little lazy & like the auto transmission

My wife called my two wheeled fleet "Toys". Since the year began I've made about 44 runs to work with them. I've only filled the minivan up once in the last month. That's a weekly occurrence during the winter.

We in South Africa, where the gas price is regulated, are paying R11 (rands) per liter at the moment. That is R49.50 per gallon which is about $5.89 per gallon. We may have lots of gold and diamonds but sadly no dino juice except for some off shore natural gas.

For that purpose a lot of people buy 50cc scooters, 150cc to be a tad over them.
250cc is really luxury for a scooter, much like 1200cc is luxury for motorcycles.

Gas price for regular was $3.70 a gallon on the 11th. In early July it was $3.16. I am riding more now than I am driving.
Sta-Bil ethsanol treatment seems to be working keeping the carbs from shellacing but riding and if nothing else cranking
the engines for a short period of idling helps too. At the rate it is going up regular may be pushing $4.00 in the next couple
of weeks.

that cartoon is great !......i am from the nyc area.....actually rode every month last year with the warm weather.......gas quickly inching toward 4 bucks here in northern jersey......i have a toy/tacoma 5 speed....gas milage is pretty good.....but i use my kymco 300 dt daily......put in 4 or 5 bucks....good for 4 or 5 days of riding.....close to 60 mpg........how can you beat this?

Dropped 4 cents here to $3.66 a gsallon in the last week. Some stations now getting $4.05 a gallon for Super.
