Thank you rks, I appreciate the feedback. I've only done a TLC job on a 2006(or 08) Sunl scooter so this canister was an unknown to me.

bones113 I realize your expertise is far greater than mine; I'm just confused by a comment. I use a how-to guide written/posted online by towingdelivery.co.uk which focuses on repair and maintenance of 50cc Chinese scoots. It recommends valve adjustment around the mileage (1400, I think ellpee wrote) as they 'seat' with use. Is there a general difference between a 50cc scoot and a larger engine for mileage / valve adjustment?

Thanks for the mention of the 300i, I've not heard of that model before. Sym and Kymco seem to be well respected names, I've noticed on forums. A scooter forum (owner?) recommended a Bet & Win as a good pick. The only one I found was already sold, such is Craigslist. Sooner or later my ship will come in. I've contemplated buying a used Van to tote my eventual purchase because U-Haul gets pricey quick. Used vans, even with 6 cylinders, seem to get miserable MPG. aaargh! Maybe I'll start looking at pick-up trucks. Thanks again for your reply

Thank you cyborg. I thought I was good to go with a used Kymco 200 on Clist. Caller #1 but seller tried to get cute with having all interested parties arrive at the same time so he could flame a bidding war. "asking price" is not an eBay auction to me so I just let it go. Back to sifting through the overpriced used online LOL!

Thank you JR. I have been looking for a mid-80's Honda Elite 250 in a specific color and condition. Sold a SUNL 150 I fixed up. It really was too small for me, awkward and difficult to pilot because of size.

Hi all. I’m working on a 2008 Shanghai Jmstar ‘Gator’ 150CC with a long GY6 clone engine. There is a black plastic canister about 2” diameter, 5” long with 3 lines to the canister top. 1 vapor from the top of fuel tank, 1 vapor from fuel pump ‘T’ and 1 to the air cleaner case. Question 1: There are two nipples off the bottom of the canister, one large one small. Any idea where these are to be connected? Question 2: There is a hose coming from the Valve Cover. Any idea where this is to be connected? Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Hi JR. In my area of Ohio the topography is flat and flatter. I'm 6-3, 323LBS. Complete noob to scooters, in my 50s. I've bought 2 cheap used neglected Chinese scooters that have been wonderful in providing me learning lessons in maintenance and repair. As I prepare to get my permit I think it would be wise to have a new low price model I can carefully PDI myself. Don't want to be stranded with one of the used 150cc's a dozen miles from home, don't want to spend $$$ on a Vespa or Honda to find out I no longer have the chutzpah I had in my youth when I rode a Moto Morini cafe Sport on the streets.

Hi all. I've searched high and low, hope someone can help. Purchased a used somewhat abused 2006 Zhejiang Shenke 4 stroke scoot, looks just like 18 other cheap imported scoots with different decals. Found problems/solutions on several forums but no specifications or info i need. The rear brake cable is broken. No clue what length Rear Brake Cable I'm supposed to buy. Don't know if i'm supposed to remove all body pieces from handlebar on back or if the new cable gets attached to the old one and pulled through. Hoping the voice of experience can shine some light on this for me. Thanks to all for your time and consideration. -- here's a pic I found online of what my scooter looked like years ago, but mine is less Tony the Tiger and more Bumble Bee.

I've seen these in nice condition being sold by people who are too much work and not enough play in the $850 + ballpark. However yours is exceptional: very little mileage and properly prepped. With simple maintenance that scoot will have a long life. I'd stress the excellent preparation and mileage in ads on eBay, Craigslist, scooterfinds, cycletrader and whatever other scooter/motorcycle sales sites you like. The right person will gladly pay the top dollar and it only takes one to make the sale. Or use it as a bargaining chip to swap for something you want. Best of luck to you.
