Yo scooterists Doing a new project with my tires, replacing my rear tire with a new one, changing the valve stems on both and moving my rear old tire to the front, doing this all by myself. I tried removing my rear tire, everything went fine until i came upon the wheel nut, issue is i dont really have a good grip on it. so i went to harbor freight tools (cheap home depot) to by a bigger ratchet (1/2 drive) & socket (21mm) which it was the WRONG measurement for the wheel nut :'(Does anyone know the socket measurement for the wheel nut on a gy6 150? Also when i took off my front wheel it was easier (took off the nut with a regular tire cross bar) but when i took off the speedo puck this metal part came out quick and i didnt get to see how it was inside, here is a pic, does the threaded part go inside or towards the outside?

The gear part inside the puck you should see another gear inside the puck going to the cable on the outside. Alleyoop

Update:::: ok so i continue on with my tire project. Today i took off the front tire, actually i teared it apart, not gonna re-use it again anyways. Gave me abit of trouble but i did it (yes!) then i put on a NCY all-metal valve stem, just one cause im waiting for the other one in the mail. So here is where it gets intresting, when i was putting on the stem the nut did want to grip on the thread due to the rubber washer being too fat. I read somewhere on a scoot forum that someone had this same issue but they just took off one of the washers of the 2, this is a bad move cause then it wont seal. This is what i did, i used a metal file stick. I filed the hole on the rim then i took sandpaper, laid it flat on a table then i put the fat washer on top of the sandpaper and started to thin it out, just alittle, just enough so the nut can grip the thread then i could just tighten it. VIOLA! it worked. Called it a day, stay tuned tomorw...

Update:: Today was a busy day for me, had an interview in the morning, had to stop by sears to get an exchange for a socket, got home like at 6pm then i started working on my tire project. Finally got the right socket size for the rear wheel nut, after 3 trips it was 15/16" sears doesnt have for some reason 23mm socket. Used a breaker bar and it worked. I also took off the back tire from the rim, added the 2nd valve stem and tighten them both

Uhh ohh, i think im stuck. today i tried to put the tires back on the rims but it is harder than taking it off does anyway have a easy way to put on the tire on the rims? i think im gonna have to go to a tire shop and let them put it on and just add air, shouldnt be expensive, just to do that. btw... I did put the tire on the rim but its one side thats given me hell (3 hrs, i give up)

Project UPdate:: Long story short, i only got 1 wheel to catch the bead which was the new tire but the old tire did want to catch bead therefore i have no front tire now. Gonna have to wait till payday on fri so i can buy the 2nd tire (needs replacing anyway) plus im gonna be buying a new exhaust header without the EGR system (air system tweak) Here are 2 pics of what i did today, put on the rear tire (new) & added grease on the rear axle, spacers and wheel hole

You do not have to take the tir off the rim to put in a new Air Valve Stem, just deflate the tire and squeeze one side of the tire where the valve stem is and you can reach in there and take the old one out and put in the new one. If you would have mentioned what you were going to do is just put on a New Valve stem I could of put up a Video on how to do that for you. Alleyoop

Oh no, i didnt just change the valve stem. Like i said in the original first post on this thread, my 'tire project' consisted of:: replace the rear tire with a new one, move the old rear tire to the front and change the valve stems all by myself.
