Wheezy - good find. That said, this makes me think that it is irrelevant to my buying a replacement rim. Thanks very much.

I just learned that BMS is no longer stocking the rear rim for their TBX 360, which is also the Vog 260 and Roketa MC-62. Roketa has it for a whopping $212. This scoot has the Linhai clone engine and the wheel is a 19 spline. The speck calls the rim a MT3.50x13. My current rim's spines ground down to nothing.
Parts for Scooters has 3.50x13 that might work (I need to measure but they have 19 splines). My question - does MT make this different? Thanks in advance.
If my only choice is a $212 rim I might just take my old, bent rim to an aluminum wheel place and see if they can restore it for less.

scot - i thought the cover was stuck so I was chiseling it off with screwdrivers until it cracked to relieve the strain, right where there was the hidden 11th bolt. I like that I'm learning on this scoot but i seem to break something with every repair.

Well JR, you've done it again. There are 11 bolts, and the 11th was in the center under the glued on foam. There is a bolt next to it that I thought you were talking about. So I have the cover off, but I cracked it around and in or so right in the center by the bolt. I'm thinking that I can fill in the crack with epoxy since there is still more than enough here to hold it.
AND - Problem sloved. the transmission elements are fine - the teeth inside the rear wheel ground down and the spindle no longer caught on them.
So . . . . while I'm here I'll put in the sliders. The belt looks pristine. Leave it or change it anyway?

John - Just answered you on the other site. They came, thanks, and I can't wait to get this darn cover off and get to work!

I'm trying to get to the variator and clutch on the Vog. I removed all the screws and covers on the crankcase cover, and I removed 10 8mm bolts from the cover but its not budging. The only things I see that could still be removed are some of the bolts holding on the fuel pump and one engine mount, but none of them are on the cover itself as far as i can see. Also, the YP250 manual notes 11 bolts, not 10, but I'll be damned to find that extra.
Assuming everything is off that should be off, what's the technique here? My research so far just has people saying "hit it with ta hammer" which i even tried. Screwdriver as chisel? thanks in advance.

REally? I thought they used to say no grease on Scootdawg. I did not not grease it and it does not look like it was ever greased. I am going to start crying if I have to pull that rear wheel one more time. Will do, thanks.

I ordered a washer the same dimensions as the inner ring on the axle bearing and that did the trick. no more wobble. When inspecting the rear wheel when I took it off, however, it looks like the wobble took a toll on the splines. The axle splines are fine, but the splines inside the wheel are noticeably worn down. I assume that the wobble allowed movement to wear them down, but who knows - maybe the wobble was ultimately caused by worn splines. It rides fine now with the wobble gone, so I guess I'll just put another replacement wheel (it'll be the second replacement) on the list. Thanks again all for your suggestions.

27yankees - I sent you a pm. Please send me an email address so I can send the pdf. I don't see a button to attach a file in the message setup choices. Thanaks.

It is very easy to get the plastic off and change the bulbs. While you're changing them I recommend changing the wattage from 35w to 45w if you're not going to go with an HID changeover. That 10 extra watts makes a big difference. The bulb is Eiko 6245b and widely available on line.
Let me know if you are unsure about removing the plastics. I have a pdf of the how-to-remove-the-plastics-on-a-Vog 260 that I luckily downloaded from the old site before the pics dissappeared. It's a little dark but its a good guide. Let me know.
