Image on the left is gear oil drain plug right under CVT cover. Image on the right is gear oil cap, remove to put gear oil in.

JR is right on as always. The only confusing thing I found at first on this scoot is that the drain looks like a plain old nut and does jump out at you as a drain plug.

I'm approaching 11K miles and have owned it for 3 years. Mine is a 2008 with the dual shocks. I performed the big guy's pdi and as for what has gone wrong with the scooter itself it is a short list. I needed to learn how to adjust the air fuel mixture which fixed some problems, and I had a bad connection with one wire on the CDI. Easily fixed.
Now as for what I've done, I was sideswiped by a car (messed up some body panels), hit a deer (shattered lots of body and faring parts) and hit an enormous pothole that blew out a tire, cracked the rim, shattered a bearing and, of course, shattered some more body panels. i have learned how to use various types of glues and epoxies for just the right repairs, and I have to say from 4 feet away you wouldn't think the old girl had had such a tough life. Enjoy the scoot and be sure to ask any questions you have.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have purchased several scoots and the common issue I have had with all is carb/fuel systems and having to remove plastic to do almost any repair. I will be ordering the new efi version tomorrow. With efi and hydraulic lifters, I shouldn't have to do much under the plastic.

The EFI version looks great. It is a popular scooter and you don't hear many complaint/problem threads which has to be a good thing. The valve adjustments aren't hard, just kind of a pain, and I would love to have those self adjusting lifters. I'm looking forward to hearing about your impressions.

I'm still doing last min. searching for a dealer. Killer Motorsports is only 6 mi from me here in TX but I've heard so many bad things about them that I may go with Superior Powersports. Last puchase from them was a Jonway YY250T. Problem is that I ordered the Rocketa version. If anyone has any input on a good vender?

From my limited, I repeat LIMITED, experience, I agree -- if it's Chinese, no matter what name they stock on the outside of it,
(1) Do the full PDI as recommended here. Painful removing all the plastic for that, but chances are it'll save you removing bits and pieces of plastic umpteen times down the road.
(2) Expect issues getting some parts -- for me, switches and minor plastic parts.
(3) Really consider sucking up the expense and putting LEDs in as many of the lights as possible. I've put about $100 into that so far, and still looking at headlights, but it takes a big load off your charging system, and since scooter batteries ain't exactly RV batteries, that's a worthwhile modification.
(4) My latest lesson learned is that 5000 miles on a tire, especially rear, is GOOD -- don't complain, just deal with it.

Seller told me they were the same, but they use different engines. I have purchased from Power Ride outlet and other than the fact that the MSO took forever to arrive they were pretty good. I am not impressed with the fact that I had to request the MSO after the unit arrived. The description of a unit I bought from them did not match what was sent, but they responded quickly, refunded me 100 bucks and changed their description promptly. I will check their site again. Thanks for the input.
UPDATE
Just checked their site and they do not require me to submit a request for ths MSO, but they are out of stock. I've had pretty good luck with Superior Powersports so they are the front runners right now.

Late on the MSO. 2yr ago, if I remember correctly, I had to wait for the scooter to get here, then submit a MSO request with the Vin. Checked today and they don't do it that way anymore. The refund was because the unit was not as described. They were very responsive and gave me a $100 dollar refund and then changed the description on their web site. Think they used cut/past from the mfg. Supposed to be 12' rear wheel and it was only 10". First one I ordered and it was an 08. Chinese have gotten so much better since then. I've ordered several since, (Long story.) I do PDI before I ever start one now, I also change the turn sig lights for LED, and install high flow fuel pump/filter, coil, plug, and CDI. Quit messing with the variator long ago. Y250T is great scoot but the gage lenses yellowed in the TX sun so I can't read them and the radio is crap. I had '97 Valk and had to change the stock tires after only 6K miles. Very excited about the BMS efi.

Guys do your homework on the EFI , try to source a reader or be sure a standard scanner will be able to pull codes . If there is a flash code instructions please post .
