What's the MT in MT3.50x13? By trailheadmike (Read 1,520 times)

I just learned that BMS is no longer stocking the rear rim for their TBX 360, which is also the Vog 260 and Roketa MC-62. Roketa has it for a whopping $212. This scoot has the Linhai clone engine and the wheel is a 19 spline. The speck calls the rim a MT3.50x13. My current rim's spines ground down to nothing.

Parts for Scooters has 3.50x13 that might work (I need to measure but they have 19 splines). My question - does MT make this different? Thanks in advance.

If my only choice is a $212 rim I might just take my old, bent rim to an aluminum wheel place and see if they can restore it for less.

The Alpha size designation is most often used for touring motorcycle tires. They can be belted even without the B designation, which can appear after the speed rating.

In the first example above, M states that it is a motorcycle tire. T is the width (see cross-reference chart here.) 90 is the aspect ratio (cross-section height is 90% of the width). S is the speed rating (112mph) and 16 is the wheel diameter in inches. Since there is no designation of construction after the speed rating, it is a bias-ply tire.

Wheezy - good find. That said, this makes me think that it is irrelevant to my buying a replacement rim. Thanks very much.

Thanks John. I've seen ones like that, but mine is different and, upon counting with my glasses, it is a 20 spline, not 19. The distance on the disc brake bolts is different too. Upon additional research I think I found one, and not for $212 either.

Mike I counted 19 , but the brake mounting is wrong anyway.

That one actually isn't it either. It is not deep enough. This one may be it, but they're closed till the end of the month!

I think I got it -- I pulled the wheel and read the markings (duh!!!) "j13xmt3.50" MAX1568N
