It has been long since i have last been on here...I had bent the conrod in my scoot, so have rebuilt the bottom and top end and changed the variator and torque spring.
HOWEVER, now it runs but it isnt running properly, it will build revs, then slowly take off, then go faste, then make a funny noise, and lose revs and slow down, and continues like this..... white smoke from exhaust, any pointers?

i have done this two many times...i only know this works if the latch is vertical, remove the fairngs around the lid and you should be able to see the latch, then untwist a metal coat hanger poke it in there and release the cable holding the latch on, some scooters have an inspection cover in ther boot and you can remove that from the bottom.

i would just remove vacuume petcock and put on a standard one, it is what i did to mine when the vacuumme petock broke, or get a larger vacuume line and run it through you ped then up you forks and out past your spedo, and suck on it if you wanna go faster lol

well split the crankcases. upon inspection the crank is worn down, it isnt missing large bits of metal but has lost a little it all over, inside of the cases are dirty and feel like sand paper...crank seal on the stator side was leaking, very badly...i am in the process of cleaning the cases, as i dont think anyone has ever cleaned it since 03, there is about 4mm of grime around the stator and in the ctv, I have some new racing barings and seals with a full circle HPC reinforced crank. Running this with a mid race cylinder that has a very broad powerband that starts a 9k rpm and dosent rop off till 12.5k prm all that time producing 9hp so, i am putting in taller gears to put less stress on the motor. Now what i am wondering is the size of my carb, it is a stock 17.5mm, would i see much performance increase with a larger carm, 19/21mm?
Alley looking for you profound scootering knowledge!

it is dark atm but it is a piece of metal that goes across both halfs and which holds another bit of metal with the two mounting bolt holes on...

Its not just speed I also want reliability as I don't want an engine rebuild every two minutes
