Yea, I think it is because of the longer belt the 871 is about 3/8 longer than the 859 that is quite a bit and is to loose. Alleyoop

Yes if you close the Fuel Mixture screw and it keeps running then the pilot jet is to big and is still allowing to much fuel to flow. It should die about 1 turn from the closed position try the #33 I bet that will be good. AND IT IS GREAT that the IDLE rises that means nothing is clogged in the passage and the tiny PILOT JET outlets by the butterfly. Alleyoop

I say to get a tach so you will probably find out that the RPMS are much lower on the problem child. Now it could be compression is lower on that one and not putting out. When you ran the Video it was obvious from the sound that one did not have the power. So yes to answer your question a rebuild of just the 47 will help a lot and get your compression plus a little more. As for getting the full deal that is up to you but if your just wanting to get it to run much better and have the power the 47 will do. Alleyoop

If you get yourself a tach that just wraps around the coil wire I would bet the one that climbs hills better is cranking out higher rpms than the RED one. Reason I say this, is it takes RPMS to get a 50cc to climb hills at anywhere from 20-25 mph. I consider a tach a must to be able to tune a motor and cvt and carb to get the most out of them. Without a tach you are depending on your hearing and feel and sometimes your brain plays tricks on you and you think it is doing something better or worse than it really is. What kind of carb do you have, does it have a FUEL RATIO MIXTURE screw? You need to adjust the mixture. From where it is currently set at try to richen it up FIRST COUNTER CLOCKWISE IF you have a CVK type carb. First let it idle and get warm at least 5 minutes then TURN it 1/4 and wait about 10 seconds to allow the motor to catch up with the new setting. IF THE RPMS GO UP REPEAT the 1/4 turns until the RPMS DO NOTHING or Start to DROP then turn it 1/8 CLOCKWISE and that should be the highest RPM out of the fuel mixture screw.
IF turning it COUNTER CLOCKWISE drops the IDLE or does nothing then GO CLOCKWISE LEAN IT OUT same procedure 1/4 turns CLOCKWISE at a time. Alleyoop

It should have a gasket, otherwise it will leak and run lean and will backfire. Backfiring will damage the exhaust valve. So Put a gasket on it the head you will notice will have an indentation where part of the gasket fits. When you tighten the flange up make sure you come up evenly so that the gasket does not push out to one side. Once you bring up the flange evenly just nice and snuge then give each nut a little more so that it tightens evenly. Alleyoop

BBKs for it(BIG BORE KITS) to make the motor more powerful. But whoever told you about the exhaust does not know diddly squat. But any way TAKE A PICTURE of your exhaust and where it connects to the motor. Like this: Alleyoop Also Here is a nice VIDEO for you:
