Well the Trunks and Saddle bags came today. It is so damn hot out today we were working outside and felt like i had meat falling off bone. We decided to wait till sun starts going down and go work out side when it cools off this evening....... 95 degrees in the shade and humid.... Oh did I say I really hate hot weather.

It could be either your CDI or ignition coil. Yeah both of them came to mind...

Ok so it was about 93 degrees yesterday. I was heading from work to Mauston about 67 miles. I have noticed that cruising about 56 mph that every once in a while it felt like the scooter was missing. Not sure what is causing that. So I get to the wisconsin dell and I just cruise through the main strip stop and go for about 5 miles It is about 40 miles from work I get out of the dells on the highway about 5 miles cruising at 56 mph and the scooter just died. would not start again right away. Let it sit for about 10 then it fired right up. I just do not know what might be causing this one. CDI over heating?

Jr Knows these wires like the back of his hand. I assure you that you are in the right place to get help with this problem.

JR do you by chance have a Link to your Saddle bag and Trunk mounts you made. All of the immages are missing on the SD forum when I had originally seen your project 2 years ago.

Hey, damin69. Here's another idea on mounting those saddlebags. It involves 3 lengths of 1" by 1/4" aluminum stock, some drilling and bending and a few pieces of hardware. Thanks Cruiser. This is going to have to be a complete Custom job. Since my Dad and I are doing a lot of trailering and they have to fit side by side on the trailer we are going to design brackets that allow the saddle bags to be removable and allow the brackets to be used to strap the bikes down to the trailer.

Strong winds can be crazy. When I was first learning to ride I literally got blown OFF the road. The winds weren't even that strong, I just didn't expect it. It never even crossed my mind that winds in-town could affect you. I've been blown around in the car before, but that's typically only on the freeway. Definitely sharpens your skills quickly though So I put my coolant concoction in the scooter last night and rode to work this morning. So far so good! Already a definite improvement. It stays between the FIRST bar (dead cold) and the 1/4 bar now.. wow. But.. it was very cool out (low 60's). So that's not a real test in my book. It's going to be cool on the way home (88) but I'll be givin' it "the beans." Hopefully can find a stretch of road where I can hold WOT for awhile. Currently my mixture is as follows: 30% coolant, 70% water (I wanted less coolant but messed up), and 1/3 bottle of hyperlube. This was all mixed in a 1-gallon milk carton before being poured into the scooter (so the scooter itself doesn't have a 1/3 bottle of hyperlube - that would be way too much) Let me know how this works out for you. What is Hyperlube anything like WaterWetter?

Blue,
This would be a good one to start a Whole new thread on so it does not get missed.
Ok are you 100 percent sure it is over heating? are there any signs of Oil or Water leaking? Any signs of possible head gasket problem? Linhai 257cc motors tend to run very cool so this is a huge suprise. Is the Thermostat bad and sticking closed?
You mentioned that you changed the fluid and it was real bad did you pull All the hoses at the motor and make sure you cleaned them out good? Sound to me like it might not be circulating and could be gunked up if it was ran with the original CHINO coolant in it you could have a clog by the motor that is not being seen.
Hope that helps. Todd

Ok so my Ride this afternoon was a bit tense.. The 20mph winds the other day were NOTHING compared to the constant 30mph gusting I came home in today. I was so tensed up that my left should blade was killing me when I got home. I had a couple of times that I got hit so hard with wind it was like getting hit in the side with a huge wall. To say what it was like well to try and explain it make by butt pucker up... LOL It was to say the least a couple of time quite scarey..... I do not want to ride in them conditions every day that is for sure.
