Hey Todd, So when it was running at 185 and 200, what was the chino meter reading? Can you give us some information like - when scoot is at X-temp, Chino meter is at 1/4 mark. When scoot at Y-temp, Chino meter at 1/2 mark, etc? Also, at what temp is that fan coming on? (always been curious about that one..) Thanks! Ok Well the Chino gauge at 1/4 is around 155 at half it was about 170 at 3/4 around 190 and up around the red it was at the 200+ range so that gauge is a lot closer than I though. The fan would come on at the 1/4 mark all the time... but would cycle on and off. But with the good R/R on it the voltage is always around 15 volts with one light off. I was talking with a Motorcycle friend of mine he was thinking that since the temp seems to jump at high speed only that maybe it is running to lean on the Main Jet. Next time My dad brings it down I will try bringing the diaphragm needle up just a bit to richen it up a bit. See if that helps with the temps.

Ok Yesterdays ride only ended up being 120 miles. Ran a Trip From My house to Madison and back. We were able to run first 20 miles about 55 mph then the Jonway wants to come up to about 200 degrees. We back off and run 48 mph it stays right around 185 degrees. Temps out side was around 82 degrees. All in all not that bad. Really no wind was a very nice ride. On the bright side when we got back and filled up the Linhai got 73 mpg and the Jonway was at 65 mpg. So My dad was happy with the results and will continue to ride the Jonway his 20 mile distance he goes and I will continue to ride the Linhai my 55 mile trip to work. We both are getting chance to ride so life is good. In the last 2 weeks I have ridden to work more times than I have in the last 3 years. So I am very happy. ;D

Nice! Todd! What's the actual temps on the scooter now that you have a correct reading? JR Jr it seemed to be pretty close to the chino but Really think we ended up with an Airpocket by the way it reacted. We were running all of a sudden it spiked up to 240 we slowed down for about a mile and it dropped to 160 and then stayed steady there the rest of the 24 mile trip. We will give it more of a test tomorrow we are planing to go riding probably a bout a 150 miles or so tomorrow.

I put my 12V outlet in the glove box and ran 12 guage wire all the way back to the battery to power it with an inline fuse on one. Then I put a fuse block in my other one in the glove box.

With My jonway the only way to latch the rear is to Make sure you push that area down first then the side to latch it. the rear is latch is controlled by the side latch.

Also check really close around where the wires are zip tied really tight around the steering triple tree. I found that there is a cover of the bearing on mine that had a really sharp edge and the wires were pulled so tight up against it that it cut through the insulation of the wires and until I cut the zip tie i did not see it even then it was hard to see.

All of the 250s we have upgraded to HIDs. No regrets and I feel much safer driving at night being able to actually see the road.

Need to change with the insurance companys. If you both have the same I C . It will be easy... Basically NOTHING changes..... All of our INS is through the same company and they are in both our names.... LOL so as far as DMV and INS goes there is nothing different. The only difference is which garage they are getting parked in.

Ok So I have always had this issue with my Jonway that I can not run flat out at 55 mph for over say 12 miles for the Chino temp guage to come up to about 3/4. I do not think it is ever hot but always makes me nervous so I do not ride it to work for my 60 mile one way trip to work there is just way to much traffic and I need to sustain 55 mph for most of my trip. Well with the nice weather the last couple of weeks my dad has had my scooter and I have had his Linhai. He has a 17 mile trip to where he goes 3 times a week and most of that is back roads that he can run 45-50 mph which is great for my jonway as We have made many LONG day runs 200 ish miles and as long as I ran it at 45-50 mph the temp never comes above the halfway mark and the fan hardly ever comes on.
So today I am talking to my dad on the phone Like I do most days on my way home from work and he says I Kinda like this scooter it is a bit easier for me to handle and works out well for what I need how about we just trade. So I now have a 2006 Linhai mainstreet 260 and My dad has a 2009 Jonway YY250T.
Not that it really makes any difference is there is no title transfers that need to be made, because all of our scooters are in Both of our names anyway.... LOL

damin69, hope you find the problem without getting into to much trouble, hope to see you scooting soon Thanks Rich, Im scooting still just not with this one. I think it is just a leaky gasket somewhere. Probably have to order whole gasket set and dissasemble the whole motor.... Yeah fun.... NOT
